I really feel they were planning Xander to be his son at this point. Xander asks Victor why he is harder on him than anybody else and Victor will not reply. The new writing team came in a few months later and scrapped his character in favour of the necktie killer saga. I am so glad we have these scenes but I sooo wish John Aniston had been alive for what is coming soon

I think Victor was just as hard on Philip as he was on Xander. Moreso because Philip grew up with Victor and Victor was always disowning Philip or firing him.

Yeah he was awful to Bo too. Even tries to kill him once over Carly. Victor was nasty to his sons. Loving to his daughter. He was nice to his nephews and Brady for the most part. I think Victor was trying to push his sons harder to find the one worthy of Titan
