Nicole sees something that interests her in The Spectator. Johnny & Chanel come in and show her & EJ the gift they just received from Allie. Nicole leaves and EJ gives them a check with a lot of zero’s. EJ is happy to help them and offers Johnny a job at DiMera Enterprises.
Johnny thanks his dad for the job offer, but corporate America isn’t for him. Chanel agrees saying Johnny marches to a beat of his own drum. EJ confirms that this is an open offer just in case Johnny changes his mind. They leave to go apartment hunting and Paulina calls EJ to her come to her office.
After his meeting with Paulina EJ rants back at the house and asks Nicole about her outing. She tells him about the ad in the paper about hiring a reporter and says she applied & Chad hired her. He wonders if it would be a conflict of interest with her being married to the DA and how close she is to DiMera Enterprises. However, he supports her in whatever she wants to do. He then pitches a story regarding Mayor Price’s behavior during the snowstorm. He leaves to take a call and she calls Chad to pitch the story.

Why would Johnny ever work for a living when Dad keeps giving him free money?

Nice to see the old EJ hasn't wimped out altogether. First his clever half ass press conference and now using Nicole's new position to make Paulina look wreck less, which she is of course. Go for it I say and bounce her ass out of office.
Nicole has a newer and welcoming relaxed look about her ever since she decided to pursue journalism.

I guess Johnny doesn't need a job. Like Eric, he can live off his wife's hard work. I'm sure he has a trust fund. There is no reason Johnny can't find a job in television or some other film-making industry. The problem is, he hasn't tried.
