Brady and Tate are in the pub talking about coffee and wondering where their waitress is. Tate looks around and tells his dad he’ll be right back. Next scene, Tate is wearing a pub apron. The cook called in sick and Roman's understaffed, so Tate is filling in to wait tables. He promises Brady not to be late for school. Brady leaves and in walks Holly and her friend Sophia. She and Tate lock eyes. He brings them menus. Sophia flirts with him. When Holly opens her menu, there's a post-it note in there from Tate. Sophia watches Tate from her table and tells Holly he’s such a snack. She wishes he was on the menu. Holly focuses on her notebook and Sophia fails to understand how Holly can concentrate when the yummiest guy in Salem is over there. When Sophia goes to the rest room, Tate asks if Holly told her friend about them. She has not because Sophia tells her parents everything. She is happy to see Tate though. He gets back to work. When Sophia comes back to the table, she starts talking to Holly about prom and maybe asking Tate to go with her. She asks if Holly’s over him and Holly lies that she was never that into him. They could double date and get limos and everything. Holly suggests they get going or they’ll be late for school. She gives Tate a little wave before going out the door. Tate sees she left her notebook and runs out after them. He catches up with the girls in the park. They both look very happy to see him. He gives her back the notebook and Sophia says, “That’s so sweet of you.” They part ways.

While on the surface another teen swooning over their "teacher"---OOPS I meant Tate might be interesting. But everything here was as flat as a pancake.
And weirdly after the new gal ordered her heavy breakfast they split before eating. Huh?

Two questions:
Was anyone able to read what the post-it note said?
Do teens still use hard-copy notebooks?

No I think it's a lot more common for teens to use their phones and laptops, especially their phones. The writers are pretty much 15-20 years behind on current trends.

As a mom of two older teens, I can guarantee notebooks and paper notes are still a thing. Plus, journals, etc.
Phones are preferred for communication, but when they're taken away, you'd be amazed at the many ways kids get through to each other.
I like the story line (though not liking the age of the Tate actor). I also wish they'd dial back Holly's horny teen friend trope.
