I miss them. I mean like I really really miss them. Their presence made the show better. I'm talking about Philip. Chloe. Shawn. Belle.
I can’t help but hope that the fact they all left/are leaving simultaneously had something to do with creepy Alaar. And I also can’t help but hope that now that he’s gone, maybe they will return — this time, with Jay as Philip.

To me they should have been the future of this show. They should be what John and Marlena, Bo and Hope and Jack and Jen used to be - the super couples and the main part of the show. It’s sad that hasn’t been realized.

I miss them too. It's sad that very few of the writers over the years have chosen to write good stories for these characters. Philip, Shawn, and Belle are legacy characters. Shawn and Belle are the children of super couples. Why haven't they had a long-term presence in Salem?

Because the show clearly didn't want to write for them. It's amazing how the Last Blast generation was wasted on the show. The writing back then invested so much time in building them up, the college years, the mess of Claire's birth etc... They tried again from about '07 - '08 but once again fumbled it. They didn't invest and by then we had Mia, Chad, Melonie, Will, Gaby, and Nick coming up. So once again of 2000's crew got screwed over.

I miss them too. I am at least thankful that they’ve all left with the hopeful potential for a possible return down the road. The door has at least been left open for a return if it could fit into the show. I am disappointed though that there couldn’t be stronger story for Shawn and Belle, especially in the last couple of years.
