This week, we started meeting some SORAS’d teens. With the departure of some longtime characters, especially in that 30-40 age range, the introduction of Tate and Holly felt like it was ushering in big changes in the show as the next generation may be preparing to take over.

Thoughts?

I think it's a necessary part of keeping any soap running, and the young actors seem capable. What I hope they really do is invest in the younger groups -- there has been so much turnover in the 20-something range, and they haven't invested in long-term story for most of the Last Blast Crowd, either. We get these little blips but no longterm narrative. It's nuts to me that Claire, Theo, and Joey are all also-rans while Tripp gets endless terrible stories, too. And they should've recast Allie. So while I'm excited to see what they do with the new teens, and I'm really grateful that the vets still get screentime and story, the show really needs to bolster the 20-somethings and keep the 40-ish folks as prominent as they should be.

I enjoy having a younger generation included, as long as they are well-written. There's a tendency to cast 20-somethings, say they're late teens, but write them behaving as pre-teens.

I completely understand the need to keep the show moving and hopefully entice younger viewers to watch.

I'm sad however that the entire last blast cast (my favorite Days era) departed all at once. I can only hope that they left as a result of the unrest caused by the previous executive producer and, now that he's gone, maybe they'll be back one day.

Tbh I expected Parker to be included in this as well as Ariana
It is necessary as we watched these kids born onscreen and it was going to happen
I thought holly was exactly what I expected for Nicole’s daughter and was well casted
So far Tate feels well done for me too
I don’t want them to eat up screen time but I don’t mind
I’m hoping the last blast characters might come back soon as well

Do you think Rachel is about to be rapid-aged too? I don't think Tate is 10 or 12 years older than his younger sister.

I don't think Arianna will be aged any time soon since Will and Gabi are much younger than the rest of the parents. Will was kept young for a long time since Sami and Lucas were young parents.

I'm guessing Chloe will return to Salem at some point. The next time she returns she could bring a teenage Parker with her.

I'd like to see JJ, Claire, and Theo back in Salem.

The Last Blast crew has been so misused, it's criminal. They were so popular and the show just dropped the ball. We'll see who lasts out of this new generation of characters. I think Gabi is the only one left of her gen.
