What did you think about the switch in actresses playing Theresa?

I found the switch jarring and campy. I don't mind the show injecting some humor here and there but humor was not appropriate in that moment and I felt like it was being played for laughs. Maybe that's how they wanted it to be--to take the edge off of inevitable comparisons between Jen Lilley and Emily O'Brien.

I think it's just stupid. The switch might have worked had there been a couple of weeks in between appearances, but to have one leave the room only to have the other re-enter in mere seconds was almost disrespectful to the viewers. "Oh, we'll throw a wig on her and no one will know" type deal. Emily O'Brien was good at playing the role of Gwen and making her despicable, I'll give her that. But honestly, with what little I've already seen between her 15 seconds on screen on Friday and then the preview - I haven't been able to get past that horrible wig with those brunette/black roots. It makes it look like they taped blonde strands into Emily's hair to try to transform her. If in that preview she was trying to be seductive......she failed.

I think it's a bit early to judge how Emily O'Brien will do, seeing as she's only been onscreen as Theresa for 3 seconds. Loved the switch itself! It was hilarious! So campy! So classic soap!

Emily explains her accent. The clip is from her time at Young and Restless.

I feel like this is a horrible recast. Emily O'Brien is good at playing the passive aggressive victim. Jen Lilley is great at playing spunky and confrontational.
However, I'm going to keep an open mind that Emily has range we haven't seen and we'll see a new side to Theresa that hasn't been explored.
It is just awkward, and the wig isn't doing her any favors.

To me there is too much Gwen still inside the character to fully realize Theresa as a character. Hence my "Gwench" nickname. So far it feels like the character is Gwen's long lost more impulsive younger sister. Giving her a campy shine but at the end of the day it feels like the foot is not fitting the shoe.
I agree with Trey. The temperament and behavioral tics of the two actors are almost polar opposites. What in the world goes on behind the closed doors at Days.
The roll out at the airport though was very clever.

I’m usually not too bothered by recasts, but there’s something about this one that just feels off to me. I still hear hints of the British accent coming through as well, which I feel like it’s throwing me off a bit. I’m trying to keep an open mind. Theresa has always been a favorite character, so we’ll wait and see.
