This made me LOL: "My girlfriend was seriously injured in a car accident where I was driving. The accident happened because one of my father'’s enemies shot out my tires. Then we find out she’s pregnant, right before she wakes up and doesn’t remember that I even exist. Yeah. I’m sure everyone can relate to that." LOL!!! I know... I had to put that in there. I was just thinking today how "soapy" my story is. The amnesia. The baby. Kind of cliche, huh? Lol!!

I forgot when I posted the preview in the last chapter that I actually had divided Melanie/Philip and Maggie/Victor into 2 chapters. Might end up posting both tonight, since 26 is a little shorter than 27. Here is Chapter 26-- Melanie and Philip.
Chapter 26 Phillip and Victor entered the living room to find Melanie and Parker sitting on the floor in front of the coffee table, coloring in a very large book.
Parker’s face lit up with he saw them, “Hi!!” He ran over to his father and Melanie watched with a smile, as Phillip scooped him up in his arms. Parker waved to Victor, “Hi, Grampa!”
“Hello, Parker.” Victor smiled.
Phillip kissed the little boys cheek, before Parker pointed to the coloring book on the table, “Look at da HUGE color book, Daddy!” His eyes wide with excitement.
The young boy’s father made a mockingly surprised face, “That is HUGE! Where did you get it?”
Parker smiled, “Gramma Kate. At the zoo!”
Victor grumbled, get glances from Phillip and Parker.
Phillip smiled, “Did you have fun?”
“Yeah!” He nodded, “We saw polar bears! And Lions!”
Melanie smiled from the sofa, “Parker and I were just coloring a lion!”
Parker squirmed to get down and back to the picture. He settled back into coloring.
Melanie rose from her seat and walked to Phillip and Victor. She noticed the box in Victor’s hand, “What is that?” She raised her brow.
Victor looked down at the box, “Oh!” He held it out for her, “Cookies and muffins!”
“From the coffee shop,” Phillip watched carefully for a reaction.
She smiled, “Oh! Looks yummy, too bad I’m stuffed.”
Victor smiled, “We just thought we would stop and see Sonny and help business a little. Where’s your grandmother?”
“She’s in the kitchen, baking a cake.” Melanie sighed, putting her hand to her stomach.
Victor nodded, “She’s mad. She always bakes when she’s mad. I’m, uh, going to go see her.”
Phillip and Melanie exchange glances and chuckle slightly as Victor leaves.
“I never thought I would see my father with his tail between his legs.” Phillip shakes his head.
Melanie laughs, “Doesn’t happen very often… but when it does…”
They smile, looking at each other silently for a moment before Melanie takes a deep breath and heads over to the sofa, “So, how was golf?”
“It was nice,” He shrugs before sitting in the chair, “…nice to spend time with my dad.”
“Yeah, I bet.” She nods in agreement, “Um, Philip.” She pauses, looking up at him, “I want to thank you… for everything.”
“Melanie…”
“No, don’t.” Her eyes grow misty, “I, um, I can’t imagine what the past few weeks were like for you… I just want you to know that I really appreciate it, from the bottom of my heart.”
“You’re welcome.” He smiles, “But, it wasn’t hard.”
“Yeah, well...” she smiles slightly.
He looks intently at her, her smile fading. He sighs, “I mean, it was natural.”
“Yeah.” She, nods, choking back her tears, “You know, I still don’t remember everything. My feelings…” She looks up, “My feelings for you… my mind plays tricks on me.” She sniffles.
Phillip nods, looking away, “Yeah. I know what you mean.”
“It’s so strange, you know? It’s like… I feel like I’ve lost something. But I never really had it... I mean, for a while at least.” She shrugs, wiping a tear from her cheek, “I’m sorry…”
“It’s fine Melanie, I know it’s confusing for you.” Phillip watches Parker color.
“Yeah. It is.” She nods, taking a deep breath.
He looks up, with a sad smile, “If it's any conciliation, even though I knew that it wasn’t the truth…Sometimes, when we were together, or with Parker. I still found myself believing it; that we were a family.”
She wipes a tear, and brushes her hand through Parker’s dirty blonde hair, “Yeah… sometimes what you know doesn’t always change what you feel.” She looks up at him wearily, “I guess, maybe, your heart doesn’t care about the facts.”
Philip nods, silently , watching as Melanie looks away, wiping the tears from her cheeks.

Well.... My intention was to have 2 youtube videos embedded in this post for background music for the scene... BUT I can't seem to get that to work. LOL. So I am posting the chapter and the links for the videos and maybe i can get it to work the way I want it to. Chapter 27 Victor heard the soothing melody of Maggie’s favorite Van Morrison CD playing in the background, as he made his way to the kitchen. He stopped in the doorway and smiled as he watched her frosting the bottom layer of what looked like a Red Velvet cake, and swaying slightly to the music. He loved watching her in his kitchen; it had never felt so warm. She turned the large space, full of top of the line appliances and oversized furniture into a small, cozy, welcoming place. Right when he thought he should turn around and not disturb her, she looked up and saw him resting in the doorway with his hands in his pockets. She cracked a small smile, focusing back on the task, “You can come in here, you know.” “Well, it’s almost a sanctuary. I feel unworthy.” He slowly entered the kitchen, heading to the island where she was working, eventually sitting on a stool in front of her, “Red velvet?” She nodded, “Yes. How was golf?” “It was nice. Nice to spend time with Phillip. What did you do?” He looked up curiously. “Not much…” She raised her brows, “Well, Melanie and I had grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner.” “Her favorite…” He smiled. “Yeah,” she chuckled, “Then Kate brought Parker back and he and Melanie have been playing.” She places the top layer of the cake and begins to frost again. Victor nods and looks down, “Maggie, I want to tell you… I’m sorry.” She shrugs, “I know you didn’t mean for things to happen that way.” “If I had just been a little more understanding, than none of that would have happened.” “You’re right,” She nodded, “But it had to happen eventually. She was going to find out,” she focused back on her cake. He looked up at her, “I really never meant to hurt you, Maggie.” “I know that,” She sighed, resting her hands on the counter, meeting him with misty eyes, “I was the one that overreacted. I’ve just been under so much stress about Melanie. Seeing her so lost. And I couldn’t shake this tremendous feeling that I was failing her. That I was betraying her trust.” She wipes a tear and walks to the side of the island, resting against it. She looks to him, “I was expecting you to fully support me, but I shouldn’t have been expecting that at all because it was more complicated than that. I should have been more understanding of your concern for your son.” “I was concerned for Philip,” He sighs and turns in his seat, “But I was concerned for you and Melanie as well. I just should have been more cautious with how I approached it.” She laughs slightly, nodding, “Yeah, maybe. Since your wife was on the brink of a breakdown and couldn’t admit to it.” “You didn’t have a break down.” He scoffed, “I know how protective you are of Melanie, and I wasn’t sensitive to that. I’m sorry.” She nods, holding back tears as she looks in his eyes, “I really thought I was going to lose it, Victor.” She closes her eyes and shakes her head, letting the tears flow for a moment, “The whole time she was in the hospital, and unconscious, I never wanted to leave her side. I was afraid, that if I left, something terrible would happen and I wouldn’t have been there for her.” She chokes, “So when she woke up, with this memory loss and the baby, I just couldn’t think of anything else except keeping her safe and secure. I was so focused and determined, that I lost sight of everything else. I should really be the one apologizing.” He shook his head, “Never. Anyone in your position would have done the same thing, including myself. I think it was my protective instinct over you that really caused me to have issue with the situation.” She smiled and wiped her tears, “I just want everyone to be happy… is that too much to ask?” “Never, my love. You could never ask too much.” Victor smiled and stood up, taking her in his arms he kisses her head, She looks up and meets him in a kiss, before embracing again. She looks up at him when the next track of the CD begins to play, “Someone Like You”. Victor raises his eyebrows, looking down at his wife, “Would you care to dance?” She smiles, “More than anything.” He guides her further into the room; she rests in his arms, as they sway to the music. Phillip walks through the hall to the den, but stops short when he hears music from the kitchen. He takes a few steps and smiles when he sees his father and Maggie dancing together. He shakes his head with a smile and turns, bumping into Melanie, instinctively placing his hands on her arms and holding her close. “Oh! Sorry!” She laughs as he uncomfortably releases her. He smiles, “It’s okay.” “What were you looking at?” She inches toward the kitchen and smiles when she sees Maggie and Victor dancing. She quietly backs away, “I guess they made up...” She smiles to Philip. “I think they did, yes.” He smiles. Melanie glances back into the kitchen and smiles wistfully, “They are so good together.” She looks up at him. “Yeah… I’ve been noticing that. I’ve never seen my dad so happily married before, and I’ve seen him married several times…” He chuckles. “That is certainly true.” Melanie’s eyes widen as she laughs. She looks down her eyes filling with tears, “That’s the kind of love that most people only dream of, you know? At least I dream of it.” She shrugs with a tear filled chuckle. Phillip puts his arm around her and she rests her head on his chest, “Yeah, me too…” Together, they descend down the hallway. Chapter 28 Preview -- Melanie continues to try and deal with her "new" life. --Chad goes to see Maggie.

I embedded your videos.
I believe Philip wanted Melanie to remember throwing muffins at him and that's why he bought her some goodies from the bakery.
Love these sweet and sentimental chapters. Great job with the emotions!

Chapter 28 Melanie stood in front of the mirror and took a deep breath, sucking in her stomach for yet another try at buttoning her jeans. She let out her breath and her stomach with an exasperated growl, “This is not happening…” She turned to the side and frowned at her figure in the mirror before there was a knock at the door, “Come in…” Carly opened the door and peaked her head around, “Hi, baby!” “Hi…” Melanie studied her reflection, barely acknowledging her mother. Carly smiles as she walks into the room, “Um, what are you doing?” “Huh?” She continued to study her appearance, and adjust her unbuttoned jeans, “Oh, umm… Ha, well… trying to button my pants.” “Oh…” Carly tried not to laugh as she watched Melanie attempt the task again. She reached over and grabbed black yoga pants from the chair and tossed them at her daughter, “These will probably be much more comfortable.” She caught them and frowned to her mother, “I’m so fat.” She pouted before plopping down on the bed. Carly sat beside her, wrapping her arm around her, “You are not fat, beautiful girl, you’re pregnant.” “I’m not that pregnant yet! I should still be able to button my jeans!!” Her eyes were wide and serious. “How long do you think it’s supposed to take before you can’t button your pants?” She shrugs, “I don’t know.” Carly chuckles, “It’s perfectly normal… I remember when I was first pregnant with you, my underwear was cutting off my circulation.” “Oh great. Something to look forward to.” She rolls her eyes and looks up at her mother sheepishly, “I probably shouldn’t have eaten the last of that apple pie for breakfast.” “Oh, maybe not?” Carly chuckles and looks at her watch, “Come on, go and change… We have to get to your appointment!” She smiles brightly. Melanie nods, her face dropping slightly, “Yeah…” She gets up and walks into her dressing room/closet. Carly looks in her direction, “Are you okay?” “Yeah.” She comes out of the room and throws her jeans on the chair, forcing a smile, “I’m fine. Just trying to get used to all of this.” “I know you are.” She shrugs. “It’s just that ever since I found out about the baby, I thought it was mine and Philips. Now I know that it isn’t. But what I know doesn’t change how I feel, you know?” She sighs, “It’s just confusing.” Carly gets up and takes Melanie into a warm hug, “I know, honey. But I really am confident that things will start to clear up more for you, soon.” They break away and Melanie sniffles, nodding to her mother, as she places her hand under her chin, “Melanie, I know it’s hard to deal with all of this. I can’t even begin to put myself in your shoes. But you are a strong girl. And we need to focus on all of the good things that are in your life right now. Everything else will eventually work itself out and fall into place.” Melanie’s eyes are wide and weary as Carly pulls her close for another hug. --- Chad entered Chez Rouge and looked around, past the hostess who was trying to get his attention, before he finally noticed her. “Can I help you?” She recognizes him, “Oh! You’re Melanie’s boyfriend, right? How are you?” “Uh, yeah.” He forces a smile, “I’m good, how are you?” “Fine, thank you. Are you meeting someone here?” Chad opened his mouth to speak before spotting Maggie speaking to someone as she exited the kitchen, “No, actually. I just want to talk to Mrs. Kiriakis, if I could?” The hostess follows his stare and nods, “Sure, go ahead.” He makes his way over to Maggie who turns, surprised to see him, “Chad! Hi!” “Hi.” She looks around, “What brings you by?” “I was just hoping I could talk to you for a minute?” She nods, growing concerned, “Sure… Um… have a seat.” She gestures to the table, before taking a seat, “Is everything okay?” “Yeah.” His nervous demeanor is hard to ignore, “Um, How’s Melanie?” Maggie nods, “She’s doing better.” “She knows. I mean… Daniel, he said she knows the truth.” “She does, yes… But she still-” “She doesn’t remember me”. He nods, “I know. I just want to know how she is.” She reaches out and takes his hand, “I know you do, Chad. I know how much you care about her.” “I love her.” His face grows serious, “I love her so much.” Maggie’s eyes fill with tears, “I know.” He looks down to avoid the emotions that were threatening to surface, “I know I can’t make her remember me,” He looks up at Maggie, “But I can still protect her, and I want you to know; that is exactly what I am doing, okay?” “What do you mean?” Her face fell. He shook his head, “I just mean that… I’m not the bad guy, here, Mrs. K. I’m not. I’m just doing what I need to do.” “I know you aren’t a bad guy, Chad. I know that.” She speaks softly, trying to counter act Chad’s nervousness, “What is wrong, honey. What’s going on?” He shakes his head, “Nothing. I have to go…” He gets up hastily, knocking the napkin wrapped silverware onto the floor. Maggie watches as he leans over to pick it up, her eyes widening when she spots the handle of a gun from the inside pocket of his jacket, “Chad?” He looks up, “Yeah?” “Why do you have a gun in your pocket?” Her eyes were wide with question as Chad simply adjusts his jacket with no comment. “I’m sorry, Mrs. K. I have to go.” He rushes out of the room, leaving Maggie seated at the table practically whiplashed. She stands up quickly and walking towards the door where Chad has already exited, she pulls out her cell phone, “Hi… Um, listen, Chad just came to see me and he’s acting very strange. He has a gun, Victor. I don’t know where he’s going but I have a bad feeling about this... Thank you… Call me back, please. Okay, bye.” She hangs up the phone and folds her arms, staring out the restaurant window. Chapter 29 Preview--Daniel and Chad have a heart-to-heart. --Melanie has her ultra-sound!

Chapter 29 After about a half hour of searching, Victor and Daniel finally found Chad sitting at a bench on the pier, with his head in his hands. They approached cautiously, Daniel leading and Victor following close behind.
“Chad?”
He looks up, “Hi.”
“Are you okay?” Daniel observed him intently.
He nods, taking a deep breath, “Yeah, I’m fine.”
“May I?” He gestures to the empty space beside him.
Chad nods, “Of course.” His voice was weak and low in volume.
Victor clears his throat, “I’m going to make a phone call.”
Daniel nods as Victor walks away, “I, um, was hoping maybe we could talk for a minute?”
“I didn’t do anything.” He looks down.
“Okay,” Daniel nods, “But I know… I know you have a gun.”
Chad shakes his head, looking up at Daniel wearily, “Yeah. Well, I didn’t do anything, okay?” He chokes back his emotions.
Daniel takes a deep breath, “Are you planning on doing something?”
“Why do you care?”
“Chad… I care. You know I do.”
Chad sniffles, composing himself as he leans back on the bench, “I have to protect Melanie and our baby.”
“How are you planning on doing that?”
He raises an eyebrow, “If I told you, then you would stop me.”
“Probably," Daniel nods, "If you’re planning on killing someone with that gun you have? Yeah, I’m gonna stop you.”
Chad shrugs, “Why.”
“Because,” Daniel shakes his head, “If you go to jail for murder, a child is going to come into this life only getting to know their father from behind a plexi-glass window. Is that what you want for your kid?”
Chad leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees and putting his hands in his hair, “It doesn’t even matter.”
“What do you mean? How does that not matter?”
“Melanie doesn’t even know who I am. It’s not like we’re going to have some happy life with our kid.” He shakes his head.
Daniel sighs, “Chad, regardless of whether or not Melanie remembers you- which I think she will eventually. But regardless of that, you are having a child. Melanie knows the truth now. She knows that you are the baby’s father and she would never, ever keep you out of its life.”
Chad takes a deep breath, changing position on the bench again.
“Chad, I want to tell you something. I missed out on Melanie’s childhood, under circumstances which I couldn’t control. I would do anything to get that time back with her and I would never wish that fate on anyone else. You have the upper hand, here. You can either choose to take the high road, and let this thing against your father go, or you can take matters into your own hands and run the risk of never getting to build a relationship with your child. It’s your choice to make. Nobody else’s.”
Chad folds his arms, putting his hand to his face, as a single tear falls on his cheek.
Melanie sat on the exam table in the ultra-sound room, Carly beside her, holding her hand. There was a knock at the door before an older woman with a bright smile and short brown hair entered the room.
Melanie gasps and smiles in recognition of the woman, “Donna! Hi!!”
“Well, hello sunshine!” She makes her way over to Melanie, hugging her tightly, “We miss you around here!”
“I know…” She smiles sheepishly, “I miss you guys too.”
Donna looks to Carly, “Dr. Manning. It’s so good to see you.”
“You too.” She smiles.
“Donna, I thought Lindsay was doing my ultra sound?”
She smiles, “She was. But your grandmother was here this morning and told me you had an appointment, so I stole you.”
Melanie chuckles, “I’m so glad you did!”
“Me too,” She smiles as she sits down beside Melanie, “All right, are you ready?”
“Yeah.” She nods, looking to her mother, “I’m ready.”
After the necessary steps in preparation, the three women were looking intently at the screen, as Donna flashed a smile and turned up the volume to reveal the sound of a strong heartbeat.
Tears immediately flooded Melanie eyes, “Oh, I love that sound!” She looked to her mother, with a smile.
“Me too, Baby.” Carly hugged Melanie’s hand to her chest.
Donna looked between the two and smiled, “So, are we learning the sex of the baby, today?”
Melanie looked to her mother then back to Donna with a smile, “Yeah” She nodded, “I need to start planning.” Her face was mockingly serious before growing into another large smile.
“Well, it seems to me like you need to start planning on ribbons and bows and pink frilly dresses…”
Her eyes grow to bright blue saucers, “A girl! I’m having a baby girl!?”
“Yes, you are,” Donna nods happily as she watches Carly rise from her seat, hugging Melanie tightly.
Melanie sniffles, looking back to Donna, “Is everything okay? She’s okay?”
“You’re daughter seems healthy and beautiful to me, honey.”
“My daughter…” She gazes at the screen, her eyes bright and brimmed with tears.
Chapter 30 Preview --Melanie and Chad come face-to-face.
