Enjoyed the Roundtable and I agree Brady's SICKENING move was by far the worst moment of the week. Made me mad.
I want to throw in my two cents in the "Is Rawlings a racist?" discussion.
I take the give a person the benefit of doubt stance before jumping to broadscale conclusions. Is it possible he is a flat out racist and has it out for black people. Sure, that is possible and can't be ruled out.
But to me based on the evidence on hand I can't come to that conclusion.
The man comes across as a jerk. Horrible personality with zero tact. But if you carefully inspect his decisions one can, grudgingly accept them.
First and foremost, this cannot be discounted the person who he punished the most, Rafe, is NOT black. He fired the man. He didn't fire Jada nor ban Chanel from running her bake shop. Firing a Police Chief is quite a thing.
And since Jada was involved with the rule breaking along with Rafe based on that, I can see why he gave Shawn the job. Yes, Shawn had his own indiscretion, so it was a matter of the mayor figuring out which one was worse. Plus, Shawn has been with the department a hell of a lot longer than Jada. One can argue Jada deserved it but there is an argument for Shawn as well or neither. Ha. I personally think he made the right decision.
He does seem to be picking on Chanel, but Chanel's shop poisoned half the town and technically the mayor is probably right that each Salem business is required to have some silly Salem seal/sticker so what he is asking isn't that far off the table when it comes to bureaucrats who are anal retentive.
My verdict. Jerky fill in mayor is not racist. Further evidence is needed to establish that. Stay tuned, I guess.
