Okay, this must be a plot to get rid of all actors in the 30 to 40 age range. Ari Zuker is the best actress on the show right now.

Those 3 are awful to me.... I like them all! But Ari? Really? This has to be the worst move they have ever done!!!
Agreed about her being the best actress on the show!!!
If they let go Galen & Shawn, that leaves only Brady I can drool over... I don't think I could handle an all young crowd.

Casey may be cute, but he just can't compare with Galen, James, Bryan, Eric (without Madison) and even Shawn. I want to see MEN. I don't want to see boys. If we lose too many men, there won't be anyone to look at. THAT would be a tragedy.

Well, that's somewhat of a relief. Still wish Christie was staying though.

Ari Zucker is one of those actors that is frequently rumored as being soon to be fired (usually led by opposing fanbases with an agenda) but I think Alison Sweeney stands a better chance of being rested than AZ does and I don't think either will happen. They are the only two females in their age group. I do think Shawn Christian is a likely candidate to be exited. As much as I could live with out Galen Gering personally, I don't see him being cut at this time.

It would be crazy to let Ari go. She seems to be the best match for both Brady and EJ. They could decide to rest a few characters for a couple months and then bring them back with fresh stories.

I'm glad Ari is staying for now. I can't imagine her being let go. She's well-liked and in my opinion, one of the better actors on the show. I also can't imagine Ali being let go. As much as I dislike Sami, Ali is pretty much their All-Star and lots of the characters revolve around her. She brings in huge publicity for the show b/c of the popularity of the Biggest Loser. I mean, look, she was just on Ellen this week and is on the cover of Redbook this month. I'm really actually suprised Sean Christian has managed to stay as long as he has since he's kind of just floating around and they admittedly don't know what to do with him.

^^ Those are actually some of the same reasons that I as a Sami fan wouldn't necessarily mind if Alison was given a temporary rest from the show. I think it might be a plus for the show to not have so many characters revolving around her for a bit. The character could use the break and I think it might give the show a chance to go outside their comfort zone enough to discover some things that might work better not only for Sami but other characters as well. It's better for the whole show when all the characters get used to their best potential.

I don't think it's in the shows best interests to focus too exclusively on just a few characters. It puts them in a bad way if those actors leave. It's also a turn off to viewers who have no interest in that particular character or couple.

I found this post on the daytime royalty website by one of the moderators on that board and thought I would share it here. from kenny @ daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8673626/213/I'm not sure exactly what to make of this but usually the moderators don't post stuff like this unless they think there could be some truth to it. It will be interesting to see if the new writers would be gutsy enough to actually get rid of Bo and Hope considering how popular they are and the fact that they are trying to fix the ratings. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Bo and Hope be given a rest for 6 months and then brought back. The new writers could have them go meet up with Belle, Shawn and Claire on their adventure and then later on down the road Bo and Hope can come back to Salem with Belle, Shawn and Claire. Right now it looks like the writers are running out of fresh storyline ideas for them anyways.

I'm not surprised that Molly decided not to renew her contract. She gave an interview to Daytime Royalty this past fall where she stated that she sees Days like her "college", and that she eventually wanted to do movies and boardway. Since she has done 4 years, I would imagine she would ready to move especially if she sees it as college. I do wonder what this will do for Chad.

Molly should definitely try to do something more, rather than already getting locked into being a "soap actress." She's so young and whether you like the character or not, I think she's a talented actress, who can also sing. I thought she was great on True Blood. If things don't work out she can always return.
Not sure about the Bo and Hope thing. I don't hate them, however they've never been favs of mine. It just seems like quite a few actors are leaving.
I'm really looking forward to hearing about who might be returning to the show.

I wouldn't be surprised if the rumor about Molly is true.
But Bo and Hope? Love 'em or hate 'em, they are the only anchors on the show right now. A soap needs a family with history, and the Dimeras do not fit that bill. They don't need to use Bo and Hope a lot. Let them do other projects, that's fine. But don't get rid of them. That makes no sense to me.
