THE LAKE HOUSE

The next few days passed with Chloe spending all her waking and sleeping hours with Wesley. Whenever Philip tried to talk to her, she claimed she was too tired or too something. Whatever it was, there was a huge wall between them and it was getting bigger by the hour. Philip went back to work and walked through the day feeling numb, feeling further away from Chloe than he did when he didn’t know where she was. He was determined that he would get her to open up tonight, whether she wants to or not.

As soon as he came home, he went directly upstairs and, as expected, he found Chloe in Wesley’s room.
Philip: Chloe. Can we talk?
Chloe: I’m not really up for talking.
Philip: Please. It won’t take long.
Chloe: I’m kind of tired. How about tomorrow?
Philip: No, it can’t wait. It’s important.
Chloe: Um. Okay.
Philip: Not in here.
Chloe leaves Wesley’s room with Philip and he heads toward their bedroom.
Chloe: Not in there either.
Philip: Okay, let’s go downstairs.
They go downstairs into the living room.
Philip: You’re avoiding me.
Chloe: No, I’m not.
Philip: Then if you’re not avoiding me, why won’t you look me in the eye, why won’t you talk to me, why won’t you sleep with me?
Chloe: I’m not ready.
Philip: I don’t mean sex. I mean sleep. In the same bed. Just to be close.
Philip sits down next to Chloe on the sofa and he takes her hand. She tries to pull away but he won’t let her.
Philip: Sweetie, talk to me. We can’t let this go on. It’s going to get worse, not better, unless we deal with it here and now. Listen, if there’s anyone who knows about post traumatic stress, it’s me.
He goes to stroke her hair and she jumps off the sofa.
Philip: Chloe … What did they do to you?
Chloe: You know what they did.
Philip: Were …
Philip is having hard time getting the words to come out of his mouth.
Philip: Chloe, were you … raped?
Chloe: No. Not the way you mean. But I can’t stop thinking about all those young girls who are now somebody’s sex slave. Imagine … I’m the lucky one because I was only stripped of my dignity, my home, my family, my security, my sanity, my comfort.
Philip: I know.
Chloe shouts at Philip.
Chloe: You don’t know! You don’t know anything. You weren't there. You should have stopped this from happening.
Philip: You're right. I should have.
Chloe: No one saved me Philip. I had to save myself. So I stabbed a man!
Philip: Sweetie.
Chloe: And I will never forget what that felt like. Or the look on his face.
Philip: I didn’t know.
Chloe: And do you know why I did it?
Philip: You had to. You had to escape.
Chloe: I did it because of your parents. They drove me to this. I hate them.
Philip: I hate them too.
Chloe: Your filthy disgusting psychopathic degenerate criminal parents drove me to stab someone.
Philip: Sweetie, I’m here for you. Just tell me what I can do.
Philip reaches for her.
Chloe: No, don’t touch me. Stay away from me. I can’t do this anymore Philip. I can’t live like this. It’s not worth it. It’s not worth it!
Philip: What do you mean it’s not worth it? Of course it is. We’re worth it. What we’ve got comes along once in a lifetime and you know it. … Chloe, wait.
Chloe ran back upstairs leaving Philip shell-shocked sitting on the sofa. His parents had accomplished their goal.

Chloe is definitely taking her anger out at Philip. In a way it is his fault...it's his parents. Funny Stephanie left Philip for almost the same reason. Because he wouldn't give up the family business....She feels her life will never be safe as long as she stays with him.

Kate & Victor need to be caught & either killed or put in a high security prison for life in order for her to feel safe again.

Poor Phillip! This is not Phillip's fault. She's taking it out on him b/c he is their son which isn't fair. He didn't ask to have those 2 as parents.

And correct me if I'm wrong - but isn't Chloe the one who wanted to come back to Salem to live? Didn't Phillip give her more than one opportunity to move anywhere else in the world so that her & Wesley would be as far away from his parents as possible?

I hate that Chloe is going through this. I've been through things in my life I would never wish on anyone else, but lashing out and running off doesn't solve anything either. Maybe we should get Kalina Hill in to talk to her

I feel sorry for the two of them. We need to find Kate and Victor. Get Chloe some help and for the four of them to move. Thanks for the chapter.

So sad.... Chloe finally reached her breaking point after everything Victor and Kate have done to her. Her stress level isn't good for the baby. I feel bad for Philip too. He's stuck in the middle of it all. I hope Chloe can find some peace soon....with Philip.

I am thinking that tomorrow is the double chapter day. The previews of the week said there might be one.
