Megan Hathaway recap (Read 740 times)

I see that a lot of people don't recall Megan Hathaway, so I thought I'd try and fill in some of the blanks. I know there's likely a lot of details I've forgotten, but I hope this helps...

Megan came to Salem in the mid-80s. She was the adopted daughter of Maxwell Hathaway, but the biological daughter of Stefano Dimera. (I don't remember the details about why she was adopted and Stefano had so many kids I'm not sure it really matters.)

Megan and Bo Brady had dated in high school, but her mother broke them up by making sure letters between Bo and Megan never got through while he was in the Merchant Marines. When they learned about her mother's interference, Megan became obsessed with getting Bo back. She told Bo she had been pregnant with his child but gave the baby away when she never heard from him.

As she likely never had a child (Roman said he saw her going into an abortion clinic), she tried to steal a child and get people to pose as the adoptive parents to trick Bo. She goes so far as to try to kill the real mother, but Bo stops her.

Megan was very involved in the original 3 prism storyline. It was believed that Stefano Dimera had a brain tumor and the only thing that could cure him were these prisms.

As Bo and Hope got closer, Megan became more jealous. Eventually, she decided to kill Hope by electrocuting her in the hot tub at Chris Kositchek's fitness club. (Josh Taylor, who now plays Roman Brady, played Chris Kositchek then.) But Megan overheard Larry Welch plotting about the 3 prisms and trying to kill Stefano. The two fight, and Megan ends up dead. Larry, realizing she had set the hot tub up to electrocute Hope, tosses Megan's body into the hot tub to try and cover his tracks.

Fast Forward to Beyond Salem: Chapter 2

Megan is actually alive because her father, Stefano DiMera had her cryogenically frozen until she could be revived. Megan is still hunting down the prisms because they offer some advanced medical capabilities. And she still wants Hope dead. At the end, we learn she had Bo Brady cryogenically frozen too. And just as Beyond Salem 2 ends, Bo wakes up and much to Megan's dismay, asks for Hope.

Thank you ProudTVJunkie and wendylou . I remember none of this. I had no idea Bo had any serious relationships besides Britta before Hope. I also had no idea that the same actress who played Megan in the 80s is playing Megan now. That makes a difference in terms of credibility.
