This week, Maggie invites Victor to Chez Rouge and finally admits her feelings for him.
"I think she's lonely," explains Suzanne Rogers. "She's always looking out for other people and she needs to give him a chance, and that's what she's decided in her mind. I think she knows she can't change him, but maybe he would want to change for her, at least to a degree that she could tolerate. It's a really big step for her."
Victor is surprised by Maggie's romantic move. "He's really kind of stunned by what she's doing," giggles Rogers. "It's not so overtly words. It's the looks that pass between the two of them that makes it interesting. He likes her and he's fascinated by her, and also the fact that she doesn't really need him, in his mind. In her mind, she's missing that closeness of having someone to share things with."
Rogers was thrilled with how the scenes turned out. "It was so easy to work on them and to learn them," she raves. "I think John [Aniston] was pleased that it was easy too."

Agreed! I've always liked both actors, but I think this is the best SL that Suzanne's had in a long, long time. Both have been written pretty one-dimensionally; it's nice to see both of them front and center, with some real development!

I won't speak for anyone else on the board, but for me,it's the fact that this coupling was so unexpected that makes them one of my favorites.Back 20+ years ago,Jack and Jenn were so unexpected as well.I remember seeing Aussie magazines label them as "The Virgin and the Rapist".It was completely unexpected that they'd fall for eachother, and I think that garnered them a huge fan following (the talents of both actors not withstanding),so yeah,I was shocked, but got behind Victor and Maggie fairly early on.He was so sweet, and so gentle with her following the days and weeks after Mickey's death, that you saw that this "old coot"really did have a heart of gold beneath the smart ass one-liners and his brashness with his family. All this to say,I'm really glad things seem to be moving forward for these two.

I have to say, this is how you do a soap storyline! And how you write a spoilerish article without spoiling the upcoming scenes! I just can't wait to see these scenes. I agree with everyone that I truly love Maggie and Victor getting some meatier story than in years past.

"Magic" is the best romance Days has written in a very long time! It's so natural between these two. It just goes to show when you have a well written script and two excellent actors the storyline just shines! You gotta know it's right when the vast majority of the viewing audience is loving this! Way to go writers!! And I don't say that TOO often. LOL!

Thanks for posting. I, too, find this romance to be so totally out of no where and completely welcomed! They are such a good pairing, and you find yourself rooting for them.
I hope that they don't change Victor to being Maggie's lapdog. And, I hope they don't change Maggie into a lovesick shrew for Victor (like many Days Heroines).
For now, I'm sitting back and enjoying them.

I just have to say that my husband was watching this with me and he was smiling. SMILING I tell you. Usually he makes this ugly face and snorts when he has to watch, but this he loved. First time for everything.... abig hoorah for Maggie and Victor!
