I signed it. Curious though, but does tbpt even listen to ppl with this kind of thing? and I just want philip to return at this point, even though it's not jkj, as it isn't really known how he feels about returning as he doesn't have twitter.

I signed! I will say, from the relatively little I have heard, JKJ would be on-screen as Philip if the show had its way. So I don't know that a petition aimed at TPTB will change anyone's mind. But it's worth showing them that there's the support!

But it's worth showing them that there's the support! in coming back to this, what do you mean by jkj would be on-screen as philip if the show had it's way? Because nothing from jkj or the show was said when he left. So you're actually saying the show would have kept philip, but it was jkj's choice to leave in 2021? |

I can't say too much publicly (and a lot of it is me speculating/putting pieces together) but there was a hard turn in the story in order to write him out. I have no idea what happened or why, but he really hasn't wanted to be on the show long-term at any point. He left in 2002, almost left in 2008, left when his contract was up in 2011, turned down a return in 2015, and barely made it a year this last time. I know a lot of people love him as Philip, and the show must know it, since it appears they're holding the role for him instead of recasting. I have no intel about whether he's going to appear for whatever Victor/John Aniston tribute they're planning, but I can say with confidence that if he is willing and able, the show would have him there. |

I like jkj as philip, he was a really good actor back in the day, one of my faves, but when he returned recently and left in 2021, I did notice that his acting in general felt off, it wasn't always as good, like it used to be, imo they should just recast a good actor to play philip if jkj isn't interested anymore. I think a philip vs alex sl could be interesting with philip returning to fight for his legacy, but I don't see that happening as I expect alex will get everything, since he seems to be one of ron's faves. I do hope i'm surprised though and jkj's philip returns even though it's a few days just to say goodbye to victor. Imo it would be unfair if he wasn't there. Bo should be there too. |
