Bo is again trying to hotwire the Earth live feed. Angela chipperly wishes him a good morning, but Bo doesn’t think it is. He knows Harris wants Hope dead, and he’s not having any luck hotwiring the feed. Angela tells him a new security system is in place. Bo wants to see what’s going on. He’s worried that Ciara and the baby will be caught in the crossfire. Angela thinks the feed is too upsetting. Bo asks how she ignores what’s going on down there. Angela reminds him that the people on Earth are not puppets, which Bo should know, as he’s been there a long time. Bo asks if she was able to get him an audience with the big guy. She came to tell him that his request was denied. Bo says the big guy made a big mistake, which Angela tells him they never say. Bo tells her that his family is at stake. Angela points out that He has lots of things to deal with, such as famine, plague, and war. Bo asks why any of that happens if He is so almighty. Angela scolds Bo for questioning God; and suggests he should have spent more time in purgatory. She was ready to help him but doesn’t want to after that remark. Bo apologizes profusely, saying he’s scared. Angela knows she’s been played and is sure she’ll regret it, but says she’ll give it another shot. Angela returns shortly later. She got Him to agree to arbitration, rather than having Bo talk to Him directly. Bo begins to question Him again, but stops himself and thanks Angela, asking what he has to do. She tells him he has to present his case to the judge. If it’s convincing, the judge can decide if he can go back to Earth. She also tells him not to get his hopes up, this type of request is rarely granted. She points to a portal and tells him the judge is waiting. As Bo walks through the portal, Angela says she’ll pray for him. Bo enters a darkened room filled with stars and a judge’s table and chair. The chair has its back to Bo, but we can see a figure sitting in it. Bo introduces himself but isn’t sure what to call the figure. The figure turns the chair around, saying he can call him Your Honor, Judge Larry Welch. Bo says this must be Hell, since Larry’s there, where he deserves to be. Larry corrects him, saying it’s more of a purgatory. Larry’s here to decide Bo’s fate, and so far, he’s not doing well. Bo tries to call up to Angela, and Larry calls him a hothead. Bo goes over Larry’s list of crimes, but Larry’s not here to talk about himself. He heard that Bo’s looking for special dispensation. He has to convince someone who’s objective that he deserves it. Bo laughs, saying Larry hated him and Hope, he still does. Larry tells him the clock is ticking and not to waste his time castigating him. He produces an hourglass, saying Bo has five minutes. He has a lengthy report in Bo’s personnel file about the last time Bo interfered. Bo thinks it’s a waste of time; but tells Larry about breaking a rule to save Steve’s son who died. Larry says his boss broke a rule and now burns in Hell forever. Bo tries to tell him why he did it, but Larry wants to know why Bo thinks he deserves special treatment, then he can tell him why he and Hope are such a big deal. Bo says they have the kind of love Larry could never understand. Their love transcends time, space and even death. He tells her about the time Hope was locked in a cage during the Cruise of Deception, and how they always find their way back to each other. Larry yawns. Bo begins to talk about how he saved Hope from marrying him, but Larry doesn’t want to hear that. Bo tells him Hope’s about to marry someone who’s going to kill her. He asks Larry to let him go back, before it’s too late. Bo and Larry watch a replay of Bo rescuing Hope from her wedding to Larry. Larry tells him it’s probably not the best idea to remind him of that day. Bo says he never had a chance anyway, since Larry thinks he stole Hope from him. He continues that Larry knows Hope never really loved him, and that he can’t deny the connection he and Hope have. Larry does concede that he never really loved Hope, either. He’s mad that they destroyed his life. Bo laughs, then realizes Larry was serious. Bo says Larry could have turned his life around but didn’t. If he ever cared about Hope in the slightest, Larry needs to let Bo go. Larry says he’ll consider it. He leaves, saying Billy Joel was right, sinners are more fun. Bo watches a replay of him and Hope passionately kissing before going back upstairs. Bo returns, demanding to know why Angela didn’t tell him Larry was the judge. He’s sure he’s not getting his second chance now. Angela tells him to be patient. She lets him check in on Hope and turns on the Earth livestream. Bo asks if she can find out if a decision’s been made yet. Angela hands him the remote and goes through the portal. Bo watches as the wedding begins. Continued in Final Scene
