Gabi admires the nighttime view from her hotel window. Li comes in and says breathtaking, but Gabi was talking about the lights in the harbor. Li and Gabi kiss. He doesn’t think it holds a candle to the nighttime view in Salem, and flirtatiously talks about some of the sites. Gabi says he’s in a weird mood, but Li corrects her, saying he’s in a great mood. He has a drop-dead gorgeous woman on his arm and is about to host a gala that costs more than the Gross National Product of some countries. Gabi mentions the prism. Li talks about how it can revolutionize medicine and make them very wealthy. Gabi says she’s about to get into her designer gown, but Li says they should make a statement by arriving late and starts kissing her neck. They begin undressing each other and making out against the hotel window. Paul stands in a hotel lobby. Andrew walks over, and Paul asks what took him so long. Andrew tells him the place is swamped, everyone’s talking about the DiMera Gala. They discuss getting tickets to it thanks to nearly being fried in a hot tub. They wonder who Harris’ plus one is. Paul can’t wait to get his hands on him. Andrew asks if he’s okay, and Paul talks about being hit over the head with a keg, his dad going missing, and having just spent nineteen hours on a plane. He wants to go to his room and have a shower. Andrew hesitates and holds up a single room key. He didn’t want to call attention to them, so he only ordered one room, which they’ll share. They head up. Li and Gabi lie in bed. Gabi thanks him for persuading her to be late for the party. Li thinks it will be a big, great night for DiMera. Gabi says investors will be clamoring to buy in once they see what the prism can do. Li tells her they won’t know what it can do until they get all three, which Gabi says they should keep under their hats. Li tells her about a guy named Phil Hellworth, a professional gambler who won one of them in Monte Carlo. He invited him to the gala with the promise of high-stakes gambling. Gabi loves their pillow talk. There’s a knock at the door. Li thinks it’s the event-planner. Both put on robes as Li answers the door. It’s Wendy. He asks what she’s doing there, and introduces Gabi to his little sister, Jin Wen. Wendy insists on being called by her nickname. Li again asks what she’s doing here, and Wendy tells him she’s coming to the party. Joey and Tripp check into the hotel. Tripp doesn’t know if crashing the party is a great idea. They’re betting a lot on someone they just met. Joey thinks they should trust her. Li is adamant that Wendy shouldn’t come to the party. Wendy says she worked on the project, too, even if she is just a grunt. Li tells her to apply herself more so she can rise above grunt level. Gabi hands Wendy a ticket, saying she understands having an older brother. She asks for two more, she has a date. When Li tells her she needs to work on her counting, Wendy says she’s got two dates, and they’re both really cute and it’s hard for her to pick. Gabi pulls out two more tickets and suggests that Wendy doesn’t necessarily need to pick, she could have both. Li takes the tickets. He thinks Wendy’s up to something. A few minutes later, Wendy comes down to the lobby. Tripp and Joey ask if she got the tickets. She says it was a piece of cake; and produces the tickets. There’s a knock at the door of Paul and Andrew’s hotel room. It’s room service dropping off tuxedos. Paul admits he doesn’t know how to tie a bowtie, but Andrew does, it’s one of the first things he learned when he joined the ISA. Paul jokes that he’s going on a date with 007. Paul is having trouble with his cufflinks. Andrew, half-dressed, walks over and helps him. He tells Paul he looks good in a tux. Gabi, now fully dressed, asks Li to help with her necklace. She loved meeting his sister, especially for her attitude. Li doesn’t think that’s a good thing. Li likes Gabi’s attitude; but says his sister will make her regret trusting her. Gabi asks what could go wrong from letting her go to a party. Li is sure she’ll think of something. He worries about whether Wendy will put on a clean sweatshirt for the event. Tripp and Joey playfully fight over who gets the mirror first. From the bathroom, Wendy tells them she’ll need the mirror in a minute, so hurry up. She lets them know she told Li they’re both her dates; and asks them to at least pretend they think she’s hot. She comes out wearing a pink dress, and Joey says that won’t be a problem.
