Joey and Tripp walk up to the door of their apartment, which is covered with yellow caution tape. Joey says the police and ISA searched the apartment last night, but Tripp thinks they may have missed something. They go inside and find the apartment in the same messy condition it was last night. Just as they talk about where to start, they hear a noise. Joey grabs a lamp and says that someone’s here. They go into another room to check it out.

Joey says that someone went through all their stuff. Just as Tripp’s about to ask how they find who it was, a hooded figure carrying a bag runs out from another room. Joey grabs the figure and Tripp pulls down the hood, revealing a young woman.

The woman fights to get out of Joey’s grip and knees Tripp in the groin. Joey grabs hold of her again. The woman demands to be put down, but Joey refuses unless she tells him what she’s doing here. The woman promises to tell them if Joey lets go of her. Joey agrees, then checks to make sure Tripp’s okay. They ask who she is. Tripp threatens to call the police and/or ISA. The woman reveals that she is Wendy Shin. Tripp asks what she’s doing in their apartment, and Joey follows up by asking what she knows about Steve’s disappearance.

Wendy doesn’t know anything about Steve’s disappearance, she’s doing this to make a name for herself at DiMera. Tripp asks if she’s related to the Shins who work for DiMera Enterprises in Salem, and Joey asks if she’s doing this because the DiMeras have tortured his family for decades. Wendy doesn’t know about that. Her father is chairman of the board of DiMera Enterprises, and her brother, Li, is filling in for him. She’s an IT grunt for DiMera Pharmaceuticals in Fairbanks, Alaska. Joey asks why she’s a grunt if her father is chairman of the board, and why is someone who works in Alaska snooping around their Seattle apartment. Wendy sets down her bag and pulls out a picture of Harris and says she’s looking for him. Joey tells her that he’s the guy who kidnapped Steve.

Tripp asks Wendy why she’s looking for the man who kidnapped Steve. Wendy doesn’t know anything about that, she just came across this picture in Li’s files and needs to find him, she thinks he’s got something she needs. Joey asks what that is, but Wendy doesn’t think they’d understand. Tripp says try us, unless she wants them to call the police. Wendy is hoping he’ll lead her to one of the missing prisms Li’s looking for. Tripp explains to Joey what a prism is when he’s confused. Wendy tells them that, in the right hands, the prisms could revolutionize medicine. Tripp asks what Li’s going to do with them when and if he gets them. He’s going to unveil one of them at an investor’s gala tomorrow. He has one at the moment, but needs the other two, and thinks Harris Michaels has them. Wendy plans to get them from Harris and crash the gala so she can prove to her dad that she’s as capable as her brother. She still thinks they wouldn’t understand. Joey does, because he’s got overachieving siblings himself. Tripp gets that this is all connected. Tripp and Joey talk about the length of time a trip to Hong Kong would take. Wendy says she can’t show up at the party empty handed. Joey says they need to find this guy. If he has the prisms, he’ll likely show up at the gala. They tell her it’s a matter of life and death. Wendy says they’re lucky they’re cute.
