We are in the market for a new TV. Ours is 26".
What size do you have as your main TV? Any recommendations for brand/model?
Thanks in advance!

I have a 50" and a 55" Vizio SmartCast TV. I found them on sale at Walmart and couldn't pass them up. I dropped satellite TV after getting these and haven't been sorry since. I have Netflix, Hulu, and AmazonPrime. The HuluLive package gives us our local TV news stations (very important for me during tornadoes) as well as now including Disney+ and ESPN. Then there are several other free platforms (like Pluto) that allow you to stream older shows like Sanford & Sons, Addams Family, etc. some of these have their own "channel" on Pluto so run all day. YAY!
Good luck on finding a TV!

We have a 49-inch Samsung. I'm afraid I can't remember the actual model name. We've had it for a few years now and it's been great. We had a Samsung 40-inch before that and it lasted about 10 years.
We ditched cable a while ago. We have it hooked up to an AppleTV and use YouTube TV for multi-channels and live TV. We also have Hulu, Netflix, Paramount Plus, and Peacock Premium.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input! I'm looking at a 55 and 60 inch Samsung. They are both the same price. The 55" is the 8000 series and the 60" is the 7000 series. Not sure which would be better except the 55" model seems to be more current.
When you say you use those "apps," I presume they are subscription services you are paying for. Is that true? I have Amazon Prime but not the rest.

Yes, although we get Hulu for free through our cell phone provider. The rest are either pay per month, or an annual rate.

There are several TV apps that are free including Tubi, Pluto TV, and Freevee.
We have two Insignia Fire TVs. The biggest one is 42 inch.

We have a 55 inch Sceptre, not-smart TV. We have a Roku attached. Our most used apps are Roku channel, Tubi and Haystack for our local news.

Does anyone have experience with OLED TVs?
I was reading reviews and discovered the TVs I've been considering don't have a wide angle and you pretty much need to sit near the center of the TV to get the best picture. We don't have a large living room, but the way it's set up, Ron's chair is off to the side and if what they say is true, he won't see the TV correctly.
OLEDs are more expensive but have a wider angle range for viewing (which, I mean, what else are you going to do with a TV besides view it?).
Thoughts?

I've not paid attention to OLED versus the other. Honestly, I went to a store, walked to the TV section, found what I thought I wanted and then physically moved around and looked at that TV to see what it looked like up close, at various distances, and from every angle possible. I probably looked funny doing it, but at least I knew what to expect when I got it home.
As for the apps - like others have said, some are paid and some are free. Some of the apps will do free periods to let you see if they offer what you might like before you pay for their service. Most if not all will require an email address and for you to create an account and sign-in, but that's just about like anything else these days.

Next topic. Who has a wall mount tv? Are there any drawbacks?

My TVs are not wall mounted. I don't want cords hanging down the wall.

We have one TV on a wall. I like it a lot. We hid the cords in a plastic cover that runs down the wall.
