WOW. Knockout edition of the Round Table. Fascinating reading everybody's takes on various complicated relationships. Too much to comment on so I will narrow my take.
The Belle/EJ possible hookup had great momentum broken up for a spell with the Belle as Devil storyline misfire. But if they do go further, it will be interesting to see Sami's (if she returns) reaction since Belle and Sami do not get along. And it was also mentioned that the newer nicer EJ doesn't seem like someone that would want to be around the bratty Sami.
Similarly, with even more fun wicked implications is the possible Ava and Jake hookup which will surely drive Gabi insane since she and Ava are mortal enemies.
Another scenario which might not be a bad idea is having Abigail and Xander start something. I am always on the watch for something that will hurt Gwen and having her sis move in on Xander might just be the answer but there has not been one hint of that ever happening.
Speaking of Abigail, she is part of a triad of strange occurrences that I can't get out of my head.
One is when it seemed Abigail appeared only too willing to kiss EJ, (who was actually the Devil in disguise) and only pulled away in protest once she saw Chad enter the room.
Second one is the vaguely sinister response from Eli towards his twins crying.
Third is the possible hidden lesbian desires of Kayla.
Which leads me to my final point. The lesbian hookup of Chanel and Allie is so bad it is wretched. No love, no passion no feelings. Just some half asses rebound effect going nowhere. They resemble two exploratory dorm girls sharing a peck just for the hell of it. The sooner this nonsense ends the better. It ranks with the suffocating Chloe and Brady new hookup as relationships I despise.
Someone mentioned this in the Round Table, and I agree. The best character to dive into a lesbian relationship is Kristen. Love her or hate her one can't argue she isn't carnal and sensual. And she will definitely bring passion to the table. Days might not want to explore that with Kristen, but I could have sworn that she was acting seductive around Kayla not once but twice of late. If I am imagining things, why did her other reactions with women like Abigail or Sarah feature none of those "seductive" qualities? Kristen in a lesbian relationship would be miles more interesting than the lame, lukewarm and tepid Dupree and Horton charade.

Great round table everyone! I loved everybody's views. Gabi/Jake/Ava/Rafe/Nicole Gabi and Jake, Rafe and Nicole. Ava is more interesting out of a relationship. Let her be the new crime boss in town focusing on making life miserable for the Kiriakis and DiMera clans. Tripp/Allie/Chanel/Johnny I like the characters. I don't have any feelings about their love lives right now. Roman/Kate/Clyde Kate with Roman. It's time for Kate to settle down and just stick to meddling in her kids' lives.  I love Clyde and I hope he sticks around. Maybe Clyde could get to know Ava? Shawn/Belle/EJ/Sami/Lucas I'm not invested in any of these characters. Philip/Chloe/Brady Philip and Chloe. I love Brady, but with Chloe he's just too boring. Sarah/Xander/Gwen Sarah and Xander. I liked Gwen when she first came to town. Now she's just a crabby, whining baby. ----------- Favorite of the steady couples: Maggie/Victor 
Runners up: Tony/Anna Lani/Eli Sonny/Will Steve/Kayla ----------- Should Roman have hired Clyde at the Brady Pub? I'm glad he did. I hope we get to see him bugging everybody who comes into the Pub. |

Interesting comments horizon and UhSir ! There was a lot to think about with the characters this week for sure. The show dragged me down the past two plus weeks but recent developments have improved my outlook. I for one am looking forward to some possible couples shakeups and the resulting fallouts. A lot of promise on that front. Which is why I enjoyed the Round Table this week. My hope is Days opens things up and starts drawing up new vistas and charts. Not a complete overhaul but some changes would be welcome. Days needs to elevate their game and bring back classic love stories, heated passions and sordid rivalry feuds. And it is important Days present the material in an intelligent build up way rather than flatly and quickly changing directions in fast food fashion. I call it playing to the cheap seats. They need to continue the way they have handled the budding EJ and Belle relationship. Forgetting that silly Belle as the Devil detour Days has done a solid job teasing out their bubbling emotional connection and they should treat more of their stories with the same care. And for everybody's sake set Chloe and Brady free from their slumbering DOA new hookup. They are interesting in their own right and are played by top notch actors. Why strand them in such a boring monotone relationship? It is ridiculous. |
