The Christmas spirit is alive and well in Salem. Sort of, anyway. Traditionally, Christmas is when viewers get to take a break from the drama for a day, instead sharing in warm family moments and the annual ornament hanging party at the Horton House. On Days of Our Lives during the week of 12-20-21, though, the party was super small, and it almost didn't happen thanks to the Devil. How well did this Christmas match viewer expectations? www.tvfanatic.com/2021/12/days-of-our-lives-review-week-of-12-20-21-the-devil-that-tried-t/Read the rest, only on TV Fanatic, and then come back and share your thoughts. The Round Table takes a break this week, but be sure to check back next week when ProudTVJunkie hosts a double Round Table for the holidays (and catch up on whichever ones you've missed in the meantime!)

Great analysis. Is Kristen Alfonso so sacred that Hope can't be recast? At this point, she should be.
I've been saying the same thing about the devil's restraints. It is really stupid.

Great analysis. Is Kristen Alfonso so sacred that Hope can't be recast? At this point, she should be. I've been saying the same thing about the devil's restraints. It is really stupid. I think it is a twofold answer. No question Alfonso and Hope are so interconnected that it seems like it would be very difficult to bring in another actor. But sometimes one has to break protocol. Of course, replacing soap actors has been going on forever. As pointed out on this site the storylines are just BEGGING for Hope to return. Things are at the breaking point so it is practically imperative for Days to bring in another Hope if they can't drag back Alfonso. In the real-world a grandma can't wait to be with their new grandchild so it would be ludicrous if Hope wasn't around once Ciara has her baby. And yes, herioicmuse has been doing yeoman's work in his weekly recaps.
