Everyone remembers where they were that day. Where were you?
I was at my job in Largo, Florida. There was a tv in the lobby of the office building and I remember walking by and seeing the headline that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. I remember thinking it was a small private plane and wondering how they were going to get it out of there.
As the day went on, everyone gathered around TVs in the lobby, cafeteria, offices. No work got done that day.

I was living in Atlanta at the time, at home with my then 2 year old son. At first I didn't realize what exactly happened I thought it was an accident. My son says he doesn't remember anything about it as he was so young. My other son was at school and my husband was at work.

I was in 5th grade. At the time, I didn’t really understand what was going on, until I got home. I remember we got sent home early from school that day. At the time, I lived an hour outside of Chicago, and there were fear that the then-Sears Tower would be targeted. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 20 years.

I was in my junior year of high school, so I was at school that day. At that time, I lived in Central New Jersey, so I was only about ninety minutes away from New York City, which was kind of scary. My school tried their best to keep what was going on a secret from the students, but the band teacher had a TV on in his classroom, and all of the kids who were in band saw it. They then went and told their friends, and of course, the news spread throughout the school until everyone knew about it. My English teacher was trying to bring up information about the attacks while I was in her class that day, but she was getting blocked from everything online for some reason. Probably because the school didn't want the teachers focusing on that and wanted them to keep teaching as if it were a normal day.

Hubby and I were driving to work which took a little over an hour. We listened to WGN radio every morning and, I've forgotten the radio guy's name, said there was something on their monitors that looked like maybe a small plane crashed into the tower. The rest of the drive was all focused on what they were saying. At work everybody tried to concentrate on our jobs but we didn't. I called my mother. It was the 5th anniversary of my father's death. My kids stayed in school all day. I don't remember coming home. I spent the evening watching or listening to news reports.
