Ok so it just struck me that Dario eyeballs Melanie's necklace which is worth maybe a few hundred bucks when she has a MASSIVE rock on her finger. He apparently isn't very good at this!!!

;D Excellent point!!! But none of the Hernandez's really show a great deal of smarts anyway. Except, maybe Gabi. Funny how she solves the mystery of her stolen earrings in minutes, but doesn't notice her brother is a different person!!!

Great point Mrs M! Who cares about the birthstone necklace. What is it anyway? A topaz? That diamond has to be worth tens of thousands of dollars, receipt or no receipt. And he doesn't need to take it to a pawn shop. All jewelry stores are buying gold and diamonds these days.

Granted, I've never pawned anything, but since when does a pawn shop owner want a receipt from the person pawning the stuff??? I've watched Pawn Stars and they don't give a rats patootie what you paid for it.
PS. Did everyone recognize that the pawn shop owner was Patrick Swayze's brother?

I did! He is just as good looking as his brother!!
Yeah I have never heard of them asking for receipts either. I watch Pawn Stars too and they just want to give you as little as possible for your item regardless of what you paid for it.

I pawn off my movies all the time...Layne and I are avid movie watchers and we buy soooo many of them. When our DVD shelf cannot handle anymore of them, we bring the ones we probably won't watch again to the pawn shop. They give us $2.00 a movie. LOL
I have never seen them ask anyone for a receipt. I also (well at least here in Canada) it is law for them to hold whatever you pawn for 30 days so you have the opportunity to but back whatever it was you pawned off, shoudl you wish to. You just have to have to have the ticket.
(My husbands employee stole and pawned off a few tools that they use at work...$1,800 in tools that D pawned off and all he got was a lousy $115! Layne found out about a week later and dragged Damian back to the pawn shop after getting him to admit that itwas him, with the ticket and Layne had to purchase them back. Needless to say, he was fired. My husbands best friend for the last 15 years and his employee for the last 5 years. It was sad. )

No offense, but if he had a receipt, wouldn't he be more inclined to take it back to the store?

My question is why did Dario keep going back to the SAME pawn shop?!?! Theives rarely use the same one twice, much less twice in one day and in the same town that the merchandise was stolen in and then turn around and tell the owner that "I may be back later with more" i know, i know, da plot da plot, but really? My husband had some very expensive tools stolen and NONE of the local pawn shops had seen any of the pieces and then when my grandmother's house was broken into, we didn't find any of that stuff in the local shops either. Not long after that happened, cops busted a family (including a 17 year old son) who was breaking into houses & cars and then they were selling the stuff on ebay and craigslist. Something like that would be more workable because we all know the pier is a great place to do business and no one would think twice about anyone being there.

I'm going to assume we are supposed to think Danko is a dumb thief, because he's only being pushed into for some unknown, awful reason.....

Well he doesn't seem that sorry about it. And the more I watch him the younger I feel he is. Anyone feel like that too? It's like Gabi is more mature than him and yet we are pairing him with Mel? Guess they decided she's not that mature either. Right after they mature her by having her forgive Chloe and her mother and figure out that she doesn't need to cling to Nathan just because she can. Well, at least I like the "younger" version of her. Guess Dario does too.
