I was never much of a Rafe fan and thought the character was pretty bland. But I always give credit where credit is due and I want to give major credit to Galen Gering, the actor portraying the two Rafes.
His portrayal of Rafe2 is so convincing that I often forget it's the same actor playing both parts. He has managed to change his posture, his demeanor, his expressions, and his character so much that it really does seem like two different people. Frankly, I find Rafe2 much more dimensional than Rafe1. He makes me want to watch his scenes because he's bound to do something unexpected.
Keep up the great work, Galen!

I agree. I always liked Rafe's character (but I can also see why people thought he was bland and boring ) but with Rafe 2 I am completely repulsed by him! I'd say that Galen is definitely doing a great job!!!

Absolutely!!! While Rafe2 creeps me out to no end, I love watching his scenes. I am amazed at how wonderful Galen is doing!!! You can tell before he utters a word which Rafe it is. Molly tweeted a pic with Galen a few days ago, and more than one person asked if it was Rafe2 based on the wicked gleam in his eye. I still think Rafe1 was rather one-demensional and, consequently, a bit boring. Hopefully this memory loss (fake or not) will add some depth for Rafe1. Galen deserves all the credit. He's doing a great job!!

I absolutely agree. I loved the idea of Rafe, the stereotype of the good guy, knight in shining armor and that whole bit. The problem with Rafe is that he has had no opportunity to be anything but Sami's savior and has had no opportunity to truly focus on anything else or give us a real glimpse into his character (other than the Emily/Meredith fiasco that was only brought about to further Sami's story-- to create distrust of Rafe and get him out of town to further the Sami/Nicole roommates portion of the Sydney-Saga).
Seeing Rafe2 playing with his police-issued gun does make me giggle because he acts like a kid play-acting. The swagger/strut of Rafe2 is so vastly different than Rafe1. I'm amazed at how he could keep the different characteristics straight and remember which Rafe he's supposed to be. I would be forgetting if it was me!

I totally agree...he can actually change his posture and facial expressions to look like a totally different kind of guy. He's such a good actor.

I agree also! I think that he is doing a wonderful job. I am not enjoying the storyline but it is great to see him that way and that boy is good at what he does!

I agree. I hate the storyline but Galen is knocking it out of the park. Rafe2 is so believable and so different.
