I'm glad Philip was able to help Nicole. I'm sure Nicole is still mourning Daniel and that's part of her problem here.

I'm glad Cassie figured out who Philip was and things didn't go further. However, I hate that Philip thinks it's because of his leg. I'm glad Holly settled down for Philip. I agree doolfan4life! I would have been drawn in by his voice and dimples too

Thanks everyone for putting up with the Cassie/Philip scenes. I always knew it wasn’t going to go very far but I guess readers didn’t know that. For some strange reason, I've wanted to do a story arc about the two of them for a long time. Sort of like how years ago, I had a nagging idea for Will and Sonny to set up Abigail (Kate Mansi) on a blind date with Philip. Sometimes those off-the-wall ideas stick in your head and you have to play them out. Thanks for bearing with me.
So, we’re done with that now. Here’s what’s coming up this week.
-Nicole makes Philip an offer that surprises him.
-Philip confronts Maggie about her houseguests.
-Justin and Philip decide to lease some office space for their new venture.
-And on Friday, Philip extends the new company’s first business offer to someone. Who do you think it will be?

Wonder what Nicole offers Philip, and who he wants to join K3. So glad he confronts Maggie about the people staying at the mansion.
Thanks for the previews!

It's a good thing Cassie looked at his credit cards and realized the truth. I'm glad Philip sees this situation as a dangerous mistake.
It makes sense that Parker was initially disappointed to see his big surprise was a book. His idea of a big surprise was clearly different than Philip's.
I'm glad Philip is going to talk to Maggie about her house guests.

Chapter 493b
Nicole fell backwards onto the mattress. “I’m never going to be calm.”
Philip sat down next to her while continuing to rock Holly. “Sure you will. I went through the same thing with Parker when he was a baby. It was just me and him, all alone in Chicago, and I had to learn real quick how to be a single parent to a two-month old.”
Nicole sat up again. “That’s the same age as Holly is now.” She stroked the baby’s silky skin. “Sometimes, I can’t believe she’s really mine.”
“Because you didn’t give birth to her?”
“It’s weird but sometimes I feel like I’m going to have to give her back.”
“Did you ever find out who the birth mother is?”
“The surrogate,” she corrected. “And no. Justin dealt with her lawyer, so it was all very third-partyish.” Nicole touched Philip’s shoulder. “Hey. I was sorry to hear about your job. If I had any shares, I’d have given them to you.”
“I appreciate the thought.”
“Justin says the distribution of Daniel’s estate will happen soon, now that Holly passed the DNA test proving she’s Daniel’s daughter.” Nicole paused, momentarily lost in thoughts of Daniel. “So anyway, the courts had to liquidate Daniel’s Titan stock and everything else so Holly, Melanie and Parker could each get their share of the inheritance.” Nicole’s lips parted as an idea came to her. “I can’t believe I didn’t think of this before. You should come work at Basic Black.”
Philip leaned away. “As what?”
“Who cares? You’re a business guru. You know more about business than anyone in the world.”
“That’s a tiny exaggeration.”
“Not really. You were a CEO of a multi-national conglomerate,” Nicole reasoned. “I’ll find you a spot!”
Philip forced himself to stop gazing at Holly and looked in Nicole’s direction. “No offense, but it’ll be a cold day in hell before I take a job at Dimera Enterprises. My father is probably rolling over in his mausoleum crypt just thinking about it.”
“Philip!”
He wasn’t ready to tell the world about his new business venture just yet, so he merely said, “Seriously. Thanks for the thought, but I’m fine.”
“You sure?”
Philip looked at Holly again. “She’s sound asleep now.” He gently rose to his feet and walked over to Holly’s crib. He found himself not wanting to put her down. He swallowed the lump in his throat as he thought about his own daughter and how he’d give anything for the chance to hold her—a chance he never had. Taking a deep breath, he set Holly down in her crib and turned toward Nicole.
“Thanks Philip.”
“Any time.”
“I hope I can do that by myself next time.”
He headed for the door and turned back around. “You don’t have to do this alone, you know. I’m here for the foreseeable future.” He went out the door and closed it behind him.
Before going back into his own bedroom, he quietly opened the door to Parker’s room. Parker was sound asleep, breathing steadily. Philip nodded, closed the door and went into his bedroom across the hall.

Yeah, definitely can’t see Philip being interested in working at Basic Black. Glad he helped Nicole.

I can see Philip stepping up to be a father figure for Holly. Which I can see would cause issues if him and Chloe were to get back together.

Chapter 494a
Maggie was seated on the living room drinking her morning coffee while reading the newspaper on her tablet when Philip approached. “Good morning.”
She turned her head. “Philip. Good morning.” She patted a spot on the sofa next to her. “Come sit.”
Philip did as she asked. She grasped his hand and said, “It is so good to have you and Parker back home and see you first thing in the morning. Can I pour you some coffee,” she asked, indicating the coffee pot on the bar setup.
“I’ll get some in a minute. I’d like to talk to you about something first.”
“My investment in your new company? When do you need the check?”
“It’s not about that.” He rubbed his lips as he pondered how to broach the subject. “On Sunday afternoon, I happened upon Melanie and Nathan here in the living room.”
“Alright.”
“It caught me by surprise.”
“What do you mean?”
“I didn’t know they were living here. Had no idea.”
“Oh. I didn’t realize you didn’t know.”
That sounded to Philip like an excuse. How else would he find out, except if Maggie had told him? “Well I didn’t. And to be honest, I was disappointed you didn’t let me know in advance, before Parker and I moved in.”
“Would it have made a difference?”
Philip rocked his head from side to side. “It might have. It’s no secret they aren’t my favorite people and I’m not theirs.” Maggie started to say something, but Philip kept talking. “I know they’re your family, your grandchildren, and as such, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be staying here.”
“So you don’t object?”
“To you having houseguests? No. This is your home and you can invite whoever you want. But I’m trying to say I should have been told. I should have had advance warning. I mean advance notice.”

I think Philip needs to get over it. Melanie is Maggie's granddaughter and Philip is also a houseguest.
While his upset is understandable to a degree, he needs to stop living in the past. He's not with Melanie and doesn't want her, so what difference should it make if she's there with Nathan?

I’m glad that Philip handled that properly He set boundaries in HIS home Maggie is stated she can live there and out of respect Philip let her away with a lot more than she deserved when the accident happened He’s not going to be getting over it when Melanie pulled her little stunt at the hospital She’s lucky he didn’t file a personal lawsuit and he left it to the board As for Nathan he just comes across as a bit of a dbag
