It appears Ben isn’t as dumb as Abby thinks he is Although he should just kick her to the curb imo She’s not worth it I’m glad we know where Maggie disappeared This must be so hard for her

Ugh. I do not want to see Ben get possessive over Abigail.
Doug and Julie are so sweet together.
Poor Maggie. I know this is hard on her. It's nice to see her reflecting and opening up to Victor's place in the mausoleum. I hope she can find some semblance of peace.

Chapter 446
“Daddy! Wake up!”
Philip awoke with a start. He was lying in bed in their RV holding Parker in his arms in front of him. “You told me to wake you up if you fell asleep so we could watch the ball drop together.”
It was well past Parker’s bedtime but Philip had made a fair number of concessions during this road trip, trying to help Parker feel happy and loved. Mary would probably say this wasn’t the right way to go about it, but Parker had gone through so much this past year, including being abandoned by both his parents. Philip would do anything and everything to help Parker through it now.
Right now they were parked at a campground somewhere in central Georgia, watching TV on New Year’s Eve. Before Parker woke him up, Philip was having a dream where he and Chloe were at a New Year’s party somewhere, confetti falling all around them while they shared a long, tender kiss at midnight. Truth be told, he’d been having dreams about his romance with Chloe nearly every night and they always ended abruptly before any happily ever after took place. He wished he could dream about something else—anything else.
He squeezed Parker to his chest as the countdown to midnight began. “I did say that. Thanks for waking me up kiddo.”
~~~
Chloe laid on the sofa in the Chicago condo watching New Year’s Rockin’ Eve holding a sofa cushion to her chest and tossing popcorn at the TV screen. The only saving grace was the possibility that the new year would be better than the old year. It couldn’t possibly be worse.
She set the bowl of popcorn on the coffee table and rolled on her back. Starting at the ceiling and still holding tight to the sofa cushion, she wished that it was one year ago, when possibilities were endless, when the future was bright, when she and Philip and Parker had everything to look forward to. If she could go back in time to one year ago, she would do last year over again—the right way this time. For their safety, she knew she was doing the right thing by staying away from Philip and Parker, but that didn’t stop her from wishing things were different.
Despite what she thinks, Chloe’s not doing the right thing at all. If she wants things to be different, only she can make them different. (Obviously not everything, but there are certain things she can change)
Glad Philip and Parker are bonding.
Love that song!
Chapter 447a
It was hard to hear over the noise, but Melanie could have sworn she heard the doorbell. She was sure Henderson wouldn’t have heard it, so she headed to the front door. Who would be showing up after midnight, she wondered.
“Nathan!” Melanie jumped on him without thinking, locking her legs around his torso and nearly knocking him off his feet.
Hugging her back, he laughed and said, “Great to see you too, Mel.”
She slid off of him and asked, “What are you doing here?
“Didn’t Maggie tell you I was coming?”
“No she did not! Remind me to yell at her.”
“Well, the truth is, I didn’t think I was coming until after the holidays, but I was able to switch shifts with a buddy of mine and wrangle some time off sooner.”
She gripped his arm and walked him into the living room. “Come in, come in.”
~~~
Stephanie stepped through the French doors from the lanai back into the living room. She accomplished her goal of being by herself at midnight and not having to subject herself to the scene of lovers kissing when she had no one to kiss herself. She didn’t even really miss the guy she was dating out west. He’d been little more than a pleasant diversion.
She scanned the room for someone to chat with and her breath caught when she saw Nathan. It had been a decade since their relationship ended, but seeing him still made something stir inside. And seeing him with Melanie still stirred up anger and jealousy. She decided to put aside all those feelings and crossed the room to greet him.
She tugged on his sleeve. “Don’t you say hello to an old friend?” Stephanie asked and immediately followed up with, “Well, not old old, but—”
“Steph! I didn’t know you would be here.” Nathan gave her a big smile. “Come here.” He pulled her into a hug and she gave Melanie a side-eyed grin over Nathan’s shoulder. Melanie squinted, clearly annoyed. He took a step back and grasped both her hands. “You look as beautiful as ever!”
“Flattery will get you everywhere,” Stephanie quipped. She held onto one of his hands and said, “Come on. There’s a lot of people who are going to be thrilled to see you. Then you and I have some catching up to do.”
Melanie crossed her arms and fumed.

I was hoping that he would show up. I see a cat fight in the future.

Vacations and road trips are meant to be get aways. Chances to rest, relax, and reset. Normal daily routines are meant to be broken. I'm sure that Mary would not object to this at all if it means getting Parker back to feeling loved and secure with his parents...or at least one of them.
While it's nice to see Nathan - both Melanie and Stephanie just need to stop. I really don't care about seeing a catfight between them.

Great to see Nathan. I could do without Stephanie and Melanie being rivals.

Chapter 447b
Nathan and Stephanie were huddled on the Kiriakis’s living room sofa, sitting close, speaking quietly. It was nearly 2 a.m. and the New Year’s Eve party had wound down substantially and only a few guests remained.
“I can’t believe it’s been eight years since we were together,” Nathan observed. He took Stephanie’s hand and stared at it. “Being here with you like this, I feel so at ease, as if no time has passed.” Looking up into her face, he added, “It feels like we picked up right where we left off.”
“Not to me,” Stephanie shot back, a little defensively. “It feels like ages ago. A lot has happened since.”
“Maybe, but you’re still as beautiful as you were then—even more beautiful, if that’s still possible.”
“Well, there’s something that’s changed. You didn’t used to be such a sweet talker. You were always a refreshing change from Philip, who knew exactly the right things to say, like he had a lot of practice.”
Nathan’s face scrunched up. “Ouch. I think I’ve been insulted big time.”
Stephanie blushed. “I didn’t mean that the way it sounded. What I meant is that you were always honest. It never felt like I was being—. Nevermind.”
He stroked her hand. “Let’s do it over again.”
“Do what over?”
“Us. But this time, let’s get it right.”
“Are you serious?”
“Do I look like I’m joking? You said you’re not seeing anyone.”
“I said I was seeing someone in Seattle. But I don’t know if or when I’m going back because of my parents’ situation.”
A small smile crossed his face. “To me, that says you’re not seeing anyone.” He brushed the hair off her face. “So, what do you say.”
Reacting to Nathan’s tender touch, Stephanie brushed back a stray hair of her own. “I don’t know. Things got pretty ugly and I’m the one who ended up alone.”
“Suppose I promise that won’t happen again.”
She gave Nathan a skeptical look. “Suppose I say okay, let’s give it another try. I’ve gotta tell you that I won’t compete with anyone for your affection this time. If Melanie comes sniffing around and I think you’re interested in her? I’m outta here, no explanations, no goodbyes.”
Nathan smiled a sexy smile. “Works for me.”
Stephanie’s skeptical expression slowly melted into a smile. “Okay then. Let’s do it right this time.”
“We may have missed the stroke of midnight, but I’d say there’s still time for a New Year’s Eve kiss.” He leaned closer and kissed her lips.

Well I’m glad Stephanie laid it out for him Melanie and Nathan were not blameless when all that stuff went down I just hope Melanie remembers she ran back to the man who caused the accident that killed her dad and let her go to the rehab and be with him

So Stephanie is seeing someone but it doesn't count because she moved?
She's demanding Nathan stay away from Melanie so he can be exclusive with her while she hasn't officially broken it off with her boyfriend. That's sure to work out well for her.

Interesting that Stephanie hasn’t officially broke up with this guy in Seattle, yet doesn’t want Nathan with anyone else.
