Sami is lying on her bed. There’s a knock at the door. She tells Susan to go away, but it’s Lucas. She gets up and lets him in. He tells her that Susan let him in. Sami locked herself in her room to avoid having a heart-to-heart with Susan. Lucas came by to congratulate Sami on her release. Sami says she’ll never falsely confess to a murder again. Lucas says what she did was classic Sami, to which she replies that it’s taken more out of her than it used to. She thanks Lucas for being there for her and Allie. Sami offers Lucas some chips. She’s been hiding them since she found out Susan wasn’t going anywhere. Lucas offers to take her for some real food, but Sami doesn’t want to talk to anyone. Lucas goes to leave, but Sami says she didn’t mean him. She doesn’t want to explain to anyone else what happened, but he was with her the whole time. Lucas says it’s great how well Sami gets along with her exes. Sami thinks sometimes the two of them get along better than when they were married. She appreciates Lucas being there for her. They talk about how they both want to protect Allie. Lucas is glad he came by so he could have a chance to say goodbye. Sami asks if he’s going somewhere. He isn’t, but he’s sure she’ll want to get back to E.J. Sami doesn’t know what she wants to do.
Sami wants to stay in Salem a bit longer. Lucas tells her that Allie feels guilty for taking Sami away from E.J. for so long. Sami says she can’t put that on her. Lucas asks why she doesn't want to go back to Italy. Sami doesn’t think she has anything to go back for.
Sami tries to evade talking about it more, but Lucas won’t let her. Sami says she was feeling sorry for herself. Lucas tries to get her to talk. Sami talks about how she always sees things through to the end once she sets her mind to something. Helping E.J. get healthy has been the most important thing she’s done in her life. But she thinks he’s been through too much, and talks about Kristen holding him captive. She isn’t sure he can ever be E.J. again.
Sami never says she can’t do something, but it got harder when it was just her and E.J. after Johnny and Sydney moved out. Sami thinks she shouldn’t be telling Lucas about this, but he counters that she needs to tell someone who’s completely on her side. Sami questions if he really is, but he assures her that he is on her side. Sami talks about how hard it’s been for E.J., that he’s a proud man and hates when he has to ask Sami for help, and that now he’s mad all the time. Sami understands that he’s mad at the situation, but sometimes it feels like he’s mad at her. She tries to tell herself that it’ll be better once the pain goes away, but she’s beginning to think that something inside of E.J. is twisted. Lucas tries to be objective and says that sounds like hell. Sami agrees that it’s hell for E.J. Lucas reminds her that it’s hard for her, too, as she’s constantly at E.J.’s side, and he wasn’t exactly a giving person before all this. Lucas compares the situation to trying to save someone who’s drowning and them pushing you away. He says she’s done everything she can.
Sami knows what Lucas and everyone else in Salem thinks of E.J. Lucas asks if they’re all wrong. Sami knows how it sounds, but nobody understands him the way she does. She knows how ruthless he is, but he’s not like that when it’s just the two of them. She can feel how much E.J. loved her. Lucas notes the use of past tense. She tells him that E.J. doesn’t look at her or touch her the way he used to. Maybe she just has to come to terms with the fact that she’ll never be loved again. Lucas says that’s ridiculous, then holds Sami. He tells her that she’s a wonderful woman, and to remember how lucky E.J. is to have her. They gently kiss each other, then begin kissing more passionately.
Lucas and Sami break apart. He asks what they’re doing. Sami doesn’t know. They continue kissing, becoming more passionate.

I love their rapport and banter. Kiss or no kiss, they've still got it.
But it is just like Sami to say selfish something like "I'll never be loved again." Because it's all about her.

Sorry but this seemed really forced and awkward. I love Sami and Lucas more than Ej/Sami but this seemed weird.

Lumi is back for the moment anyway. Sami is feeling neglected and Lucas is there to make it better but I think Lucas still has deep feelings for Sami that Sami doesn’t have for Lucas. She cares about him but not like he cares about her. This is all going to get very interesting come summer! Whoop whoop!

I love Sami and Lucas together. She is able to completely be herself with him, and he never faults her for it. Instead, he just jokes about it by saying things like "they don't make a 'congratulations, you didn't go to prison' card". And instead of getting mad at him, she laughs right back at him because she knows everything he says about her is true. Lucas was also the one person who she could fully open up to about her motivation for getting mixed up in Charlie's murder case. I hope we get to see more scenes of the two of them bantering or having a serious talk because they are some of the most enjoyable scenes on the show right now.
