Abigail is not sure she can make peace with Gwen. Jack urges her to do it for her and her family, Gwen enters and the talks begin. Gwen apologizes for all she has done to Abigail and her family. Abigail tells her that talk is cheap, she doesn't believe a word. Abigail starts to list all the things she did to Gwen but also gives her reasons for doing them. Jack tells her that she is putting all the blame on Gwen. Finally, Abigail admits that she went too far in kidnapping and trying to drug Gwen Jack appreciates their sincere efforts. He asks that they shake hands. Gwen puts out her hand but Abigail resists returning the gesture. Jack tells her that this can't go on. Abigail agrees that she should let this go. Jack wants her to shake hands to end the cycle for the sake of her family. Abigail has one more request. She wants Gwen to look her in the eye and tell her that Laura's death was an accident. Gwen throws up on Abigail. Abigail calls Gwen disgusting. She accuses her of puking on demand rather than giving her a straight answer. Abigail leaves. Gwen tells Jack that she is really sick, it was not a stunt. Jack asks if it was something she ate? Gwen tells him that maybe she is pregnant.
Abigail tells Chad about her meeting with Gwen. Chad asks - no truce? Abigail responds - no peace.

Well...at least Gwen didn't faint (the tried and true soap trope to pregnancy)

I really did not need to see Gwen puking. That was disgusting and unnecessary to show.

That was disgusting but i felt sorry for Gwen but I don't know why, maybe because I hate the bad Abigail.

I was never a fan of abby but this abby is great
Jack needs help if he thinks thats how he can fix things! And The puke is a visual representation of what i see during gwen scenes.

I guess I’m one of the few who has very little issues with Abby not being able to easily accept Gwen’s apology and believe she’s sincere. If someone had drugged me to the point I had hallucinations and thought I was going insane I don’t think I’d ever forgive them. She’s said she might have hallucinations still. So I can understand her anger - and that’s not even looking at the marriage stuff.
When I first watched this I thought it was odd that Gwen almost immediately started checking her calendar AND announced her suspicion of pregnancy to...Jack, her and Abby’s father. I would never announce something like that without confirmation first. And that made me wonder...is Gwen faking a pregnancy? You can take things to make yourself puke and I wouldn’t put it past her.
She had made comments before about still wanting to get Abby and I could totally see her making a big show of being sorry for her actions just as she announces her pregnancy just to torture Abby and Chad. All the while painting herself as the victim.

I don't have a problem with Abigail not accepting Gwen's apology.
I do have a problem with Abigail throwing tantrums about Jack wanting to have a relationship with both his daughters and saying utterly stupid things like "she puked on me on purpose" and pretending she's never heard of anyone getting ill spontaneously.

I thought she was ridiculous about that too but I kind of think she may turn out to be right. I bet Gwen actually did do it on purpose. I could be wrong...but I bet I’m not. I think Gwen has not changed a bit.

wendylou I also have zero issues with Abby not forgiving Gwen I’d personally lose respect for her if she did I’m a big jack fan but I’m annoyed that he’s trying to force this They aren’t children and Gwen made her choices fully understanding the consequences She should be in jail I also admit that I have absolutely zero interest in Gwen and if she’s going to be forced on the screen I prefer the table to be turned and watch someone torment her until she finally leaves Salem She literally brings nothing to the show

I was surprised that they actually showed the puke. Usually, they just imply that a character threw up by having them lean over and make retching sounds. This was totally disgusting. To make it even worse, Abigail keeps talking about it. And every time she does, I am forced to see that disgusting scene in my mind all over again.
Anyway, I know I am in the minority here, but I am actually intrigued by the idea of Gwen being pregnant with Chad's baby. If nothing else, it will cause some good soap drama if it is written correctly.

Why should Abby forgive Gwen? It's not Abby's fault that Gwen grew up thinking Jack didn't want her. So true. Plus even though Abby has had a better life in some ways, it hasn't always been easy for her either. Also, forgiveness has to come from the heart. It can't be forced. |
