Julie's Place Theo tells Julie about Chanel. Julie is shocked that Paulina has a daughter. Anyway, Theo asks her about Ciara. Did she hear she was being hypnotized? Julie thinks this is wonderful news. Theo isn't sure. Julie asks him doesn't he want Ciara to get her memories back? Theo hesitates. He has a flashback of Claire asking if he has feelings for Ciara. He tells Julie that Ciara's memories might be painful.
Ciara's Room Part I Ciara is all upset that Claire tried to set her on fire. Marlena tries to explain. Ciara doesn't want to hear excuses. She can't deal with this. She's out of here. She runs away.
The Waiting Area Part I Ben wants more coffee. Claire thinks he's had enough caffeine. She's sure that if the session went badly, Marlena would have ended it by now, and that Ciara will remember Ben's love shortly. Ben hopes so. He thought nothing could be worse than losing Ciara forever. But the look of fear in her eyes when she opened them and he was there is worse.
Ciara comes running out into the waiting room, followed by Marlena. Ciara starts ranting at Claire. How could she do this to her twice? Claire says she wasn't in her right mind and panicked when Ciara found out she had set the first fire. Ciara freaks out more. YOU TRIED TO KILL ME TWICE? Marlena tells Ciara to go back to her room. Ciara won't. Ben tries to comfort her and she pushes him away. She doesn't want him touching her.
Ciara does a lot of yelling about how Claire and Ben are both psycho and how she doesn't want either of them in her lives. She doesn't want to remember. There's no way in hell she ever loved a serial killer or forgave Claire. She hates Ben. She never wants to see him again. She runs off sobbing.
Marlena wants to go after Ciara. Ben begs her to convince Ciara to continue with hypnosis. Marlena tells him not now. She goes.
Claire cries this is all her fault. Ben says it isn't. Claire wonders when this nightmare will end.
Ciara's Room Part II Ciara lies in bed crying. She grabs the copy of Through the Looking Glass and throws it at the door as Marlena comes in, then apologizes. Marlena is sorry that she didn't prep Ciara better for this new knowledge. Ciara doesn't want hypnosis. Marlena asks how she can help. Ciara asks to borrow her phone.
The Waiting Area Part II Marlena tells Ben and Claire that Ciara is calm now but not interested in hypnosis. Ben can't deal with this right now. He has to go get air. He goes and Claire tells Marlena she feels this is her fault. Marlena says memories are what they are. She hugs Claire.
Later, Theo shows up and tells Ben and Claire that Ciara called him and wants to see him.
Ciara's Room Part III
Ciara is crying and upset. Why didn't Theo tell her what Claire did to her? Theo didn't want to upset her further. He hugs her just as Ben comes to the door. Ben hears Ciara tell Theo she never wants to see Claire or Ben again and that she hates them both.

Ciara's shrieking histrionics were too much for me. I literally turned off the sound and left the room. I don't think I've ever done that before.
This is not fun to re-watch Ciara's reactions to things she knew about before. It's not fun to hear her constantly calling Ben a killer. This quasi Ben/Ciara/Theo triangle is a bore. None of this is interesting/dramatic/compelling/ entertaining. I just want it to end. #BadStorytelling.
And, why didn't Marlena mention that Claire was locked up in Bayview for her crimes and that she also "did the work"?

She couldn't get a word past Ciara's crying. We all know where this is going. Theo and Ciara are going to get closer, and Ben and Claire will find comfort in each other.

Ben and Claire have 100x the chemistry of Ben and Ciara anyway and have a relationship based on something other than being able to set world records for how many times they can have sex.
Marlena tried to tell Ciara the rest of the story about Claire at least five times and Ciara insisted she didn't need to hear it.

I try to watch every scene for the round table, but this was difficult to get through. Talk about over-the-top hysterics!
Add in the disappearance of Theo's autism and I really hate this story. I don't understand why they're choosing to write Theo this way when his autism and how he might have trouble with emotional cues could make this a more interesting story. Was it just too difficult for the writers to do even minimal research and try to write something real?

Thank you for saying this! It would have been such a teachable moment for them to address the struggles of Theo's autism. It is so hard for some autistic people to deal with social situations and I'm sure they have autistic fans who would have appreciated it. For sure emotional cues are a big deal for them, I have seen it firsthand as a mom of autistic boys (who watch the show).

And then eventually Ciara will get all her memories back and want to be with Ben and he will beg forgiveness for finding companionship with Claire. Ugh.
