heroicmuse and I are joined by bradys to debate Philip and Gabi's new partnership, the disappearance of Theo's Autism, our favorite friendships in Salem, the top April Fool's Day storylines, and more!

I actually forgot that Theo was supposed to have autism. He must be very high-functioning. My favorite April Fool's story was the Stefano clone story but they were all kind of funny. My second favorite would be the Xander/Bonnie pairing. I thought Xander looked kind of cool as a priest.

I miss the bromance between Steve and Bo I know they’ve tried to push Steve and John but I’m just not feeling it I am enjoying jack and Xander’s friendship a lot though I agree with everyone about Theo The whole story is just wrong and the writers need to go back to school and get an education Geez even Groupon offers little courses on this type of thing and even though you won’t learn all about something as complex as autism they’d at least get a bit of information in regards to it They’re on a budget as well so it wouldn’t kill them to spend the €20 it’s costs Right now it’s awful and like heroicmuse pointed out that those viewers who have autism would be more frustrated than anything as it’s gone beyond misunderstood at this stage I didn’t vote for the storyline poll as “the end” wasn’t an option I just wasn’t feeling it I am not as bothered by Philip and gabi as I thought I would be I like the dynamic between them and they have good onscreen chemistry Gabi seems more tolerable with Philip Having said that I like them in business with maybe a friendship in the mix, I don’t mind if they do chemistry test them beyond this but if they do I hope it’s done slowly I would hate for them to just jump into bed I’m giving up on phloe as it’s been clear this isn’t the writers intentions so I’m prepared for the next option I’m just disappointed that Chloe went to Brady in the end He’s just an idiot and I think he brings her character down ...

It feels like they just brushed it under the rug like it should not be part of the story.

I actually forgot that Theo was supposed to have autism. He must be very high-functioning. Many Autistic people are able to function well in some areas of their lives. (I have been subject to the annoying comment myself of "I can't believe you have Autism. You seem so NORMAL.") But in the case of this show, it's more likely the writers forgot that Theo is Autistic or don't think it's important.

It's disappointing that people can say an autistic person appears "normal" when they don't always see the struggles. As for me, I have two grown autistic boys, one is verbal, one rarely speaks (he has other disabilities as well), and they are different in a lot of other ways too. To be honest I think autistic people are very creative and sensitive, but I think that is also where a lot of their frustration comes from, they can be misunderstood. At least that is what I have experienced with my kids. Anyway it would have been nice to see Theo deal with this issue as my boys watch the show and it would be someone they could relate to somewhat.
