I love how St. Pat's Day is a national holiday in Ireland, doolfan4life. We are having a driveway social with about a dozen neighbors. Ron is making everyone Irish Coffees (the kind with Irish whiskey and whipped cream!) and Irish Soda Bread. Mmm. For our own dinner, we will have corned beef and cabbage. Ron makes the best corned beef I've ever tasted, even growing up in New York, the deli capital of the world.

Kpatch st Patrick is held in very high regards here as he banished the snakes from Ireland They even built a chapel where it happened on croagh Patrick No one does anything in terms of a meal as soda bread is a weekly thing The corned beef must be an American thing it’s not even easy to find here unless in the deli prepackaged The traditional dish is bacon and cabbage which is weekly on the menu If it wasn’t full lock down we’d have a parade and all the pubs would be full The older generation would go to mass but they’re giving out as it’s only available online and none of them are handy with a computer to do so I took my kids for a long walk within my 5km allowance just cuz the weathers nice then I came home and got a few chores done like lunches for Creche tomorrow and baked muffins for their snacks and I stewed some fruit for their porridge in the mornings Uneventful but I’m still exhausted

We made reuben sandwiches. Sami made an apple cobbler. Our city's annual parade was cancelled again this year.

We had a pretty quiet day, my sister, her family and I. It was nice. One of my two radio programs aired this evening, so if you're interested in hearing some Irish music to close out your holiday, you can find it here: www.spreaker.com/user/4485607/st-patricks-day-2021We did have the usual corned beef and cabbage dinner, and it was excellent! I was also lucky enough to find a place that'll send me Green River, my favorite St. Patrick's Day drink, as it's not readily available out in the Seattle area. Green River is a lime flavored soda that's made in Chicago, and named after the fact that each year, the Chicago River is dyed green. In all, it was a good day.

Made corned beef with carrots, brussels sprouts, and onions. Brownies for dessert with chocolate mint frosting. Wore my leprechaun hat St.Paddy's day shirt and put up shamrock lights I got at dollar tree.
Me and my family don't eat red meat that often but gotta have corned beef on St Patrick's Day!
