Just a note about the next update to Undertow2.
I will be posting it tonight (well this morning for many of you - I am a night owl) and it does include Philip. I've got many inquires about that let me tell you. LOL. OK scratch the overnight posting I need to sleep on a few things...going for later in the day. (4/9)
Since the fanfiction section has transitioned to member only. I will post an "update alert" in this thread, that way readers will know when to log in (or register as a member) to read the next installment. It is sort of like my version of the "fresh donut" light at Krispy Kreme. Or like this gas station in Missouri that used to have a light whenever fresh chicken was just out of the fryer (kid you not).

Commentary on Chapter 2 of Undertow 2
Actually not much to comment on. LOL It was a challenge for me to write Philip that way. Hopefully I pulled it off.
I let Melanie ramble, which she is prone to do. Just imagined Philip in my mind, trapped in a room with Melanie just going and going. That was the basis of Chapter 2 pretty much. LOL
Things get a bit more complicated after this...as you might have guessed by the last lines of the chapter. Things look to be leaning a certain way. My suggestion....don't be too quick to call it. We've only just begun.
I am willing to answer any spoiler questions...feel free.

Does Philip have any clue how long he's been in the hospital? I suspect that his mind is back at the time of the accident and that's why he's missing Chloe. They were spending so much time together back then.

They were spending so much time together back then. Philip hasn't been told anything at this point. This is the first day he has been alert this long. He sort of was like a newborn the first week...sleeping more than awake. And when he was awake he wasn't completely lucid. |

So he could very well think that the accident occurred in the last few days. I look forward to him being able to talk and finding out everything that's happened in the past nine months especially Parker.

I hope you like Philip as a father. That is a huge part of this, if you couldn't tell. LOL Parker and Philip are the only sure thing in the story....we know they end up together. ;D |

Well you finally did it, Slyn. You made me feel sorry for Melanie. In fact, my heart broke for her. After all her devotion to Philip, her blood, sweat, tears, and self-sacrifice, followed by her joy at getting him back ... in her first interaction with him, he goes and says he misses Chloe. The elephant in the room. That had to hurt like hell. And don’t worry, I’m not “calling it,” as you said. I know better than that.
Philip seemed to have an instant affinity with Parker. That was really sweet. Parker obviously reminded him of Claire.
The one part that didn’t quite add up for me is how Philip went from asking for a kiss, to not wanting a kiss, to touching Melanie’s rings, to getting agitated and asking about Chloe. How did he get from point A to point B? Seemed to me like a firestorm of memories hit him all at once.
I am definitely ready for more Philip. All Philip all the time is fine by me.

I thought poor Melanie was going to have to pull a Chloe and dive into the river too. LOL She will need all the sympathy she can get...  Well that part was deliberately written unclear. We are seeing this from Melanie's pov, not Philip's. So until he can talk, we will be in the dark about what he was thinking at that moment. But Philip will get a pov soon...chapter 5. Chapters 3 & 4 will be about Philip (we might check in a bit with Chloe though briefly) and Chapter 5 is Philip's pov (FINALLY!!) Fingers crossed that we will hit chapter 5 next week. |
