I can certainly understand Melissa protecting her family. I wonder if others will make the decision to stay away for awhile longer?
I don't know how I would feel about the show if some of the older vets decided to sit out a few more months. The younger characters are OK but not sure I want a steady diet of them.

While I’m sad to see Melissa Reeves go, her reasons are totally understandable. She has to do what’s best for her and her family. Also, Cady McClain is awesome! I loved her as Dixie in All My Children! This is gonna be really interesting!

This makes total sense. I imagine we will see other little changes in how the whole show is staged. I see how it is on The Bold & the Beautiful.

I like Cady a lot. Last time I remember seeing her was on As The World Turns though I think she was also there for AMC's ending. She'll be great. I also understand Melissa as well. I do wonder if we're going to hear any other casting changes but so far things have been pretty quiet.
B&B is weird sometimes. People don't touch and if you look closely at the kiss scenes the actors are either making out with their significant others or a doll. Y&R had a really big emotional scene where one character finds out that their cancer has spread but her boyfriend doesn't touch her or even sit near her. It's just weird.

If they had to recast, I think Cady McClain is a great choice. I'm curious to see what kind of chemistry she has onscreen with Matt Ashford.

I hope it's VERY temporary. They've had other actresses temporarily playing Jennifer and it just didn't work.

I respect Melissa Reeves' waiting out the Coronavirus problems, but Cady McClain just doesn't have the chemistry with Matthew Ashford. They shouldn't have tried to re-cast Jennifer... it just doesn't work.

It must be very difficult for Cady to take over the role from an actress that fans have watched for decades, not to mention jump in to the middle of this type of storyline with such a well-established couple. I think this recast would have gone better if they had ramped up Cady's takeover of the role more slowly. Unfortunately, with such a dramatic storyline, we're all picturing how Missy Reeves would be playing this. I don't think it's fair to the actors or the fans.  |
