RON CARLIVATI CONFIRMS THAT "DAYS" WILL INSERT A 7-8 EPISODE "MINI-STORYLINE" TO GET "DAYS" EPISODES BACK ON TRACK...
In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, head writer Ron Carlivati confirmed how "Days" will get the episodes (which have been airing more than 2 weeks early since May) back on track, and keep all of the holidays airing on the correct dates. Carlivati stated: "["Days" will] insert some shows into October that would put everything back on track... mini-storyline that didn't feel too jarring for the audience...There is a sort of seven- or eight-day incident that happens in Salem that was not there originally." That new event, plus some upcoming preemptions in the next few months, will combine to get the episodes airing again on their correct dates by the end of October, just in time for the Halloween episode.

I guess this makes sense since the show was supposed to be preempted for a couple weeks for the Olympics.

I wonder if some of the returns that were in the Fall preview video are part of this mini-storyline.

This would be the perfect time/place to insert the App series. They'd have to do some production and editing to make room for broadcast commercials, but it's already filmed. What could be easier? And especially since Jan is back, it would make sense to air the last blast reunion so the audience could see the recent history.
