Not confirmed 100%, but probably true: Victoria Konefal is LeavingThe hits just keep on coming from Days of our Lives. Only a day after the news broke that Kristian Alfonso was leaving after 37 (!) years as Hope, rumors have begun to swirl that Victoria Konefal, who plays her daughter, Ciara, is also on her way out. “A flood of reliable Days insiders” say that the actress is going to exit stage left from the soap she’s called home since 2017, according to a Twitter poster. And, given that all indications are that her leading man, Robert Scott Wilson, is sticking around — and that Ciara hasn’t been recast (at least not yet) — it looks like Ben is going to need a new love interest to try to piece together his broken heart. Since NBC renewed Days of our Lives for Season 56 back in January, one departure after another has been announced. Among them: Casey Moss (ex-JJ), Chandler Massey and Freddie Smith, aka gay supercouple Will and Sonny, Galen Gering (Rafe) and, of course, most recently Alfonso. Konefal has yet to comment on the speculation that she has one foot, if not both feet, out the door. (She hasn’t posted to Instagram or Twitter since May except in Stories.) But you can bet that when she does, we’ll let you know. Oddly, not that long ago, Soaps.com made up a list of reasons that Ben and Ciara shouldn’t get married; however, the likelihood of Konefal moving on to pursue other interests wasn’t one of them. |

Greg Meng one of the co-exec producers was fired about a week ago. He was part of the behind the scenes team for almost 30 years. Not sure if that's part of the reason for the recent exit announcements.

Not too sad to hear this. I like the actress alright (especially compared to the last Ciara, yikes) but the character is kind of grating.
I never quite got into this teen scene of Ciara, Claire, Tripp, Joey, etc. they were never as captivating as those before them. Might be time to let Allie, Johnny and others start to take the stage for that age group.
Can’t imagine what they’ll do with Ben if she leaves, they revolve almost exclusively around each other. The problem with him is that if he’s paired with someone new they kind of have to rehash the “he used to be a serial killer” thing or else pretend it never happened.

I'm also not sad about this. No hate towards the actress. I just don’t like what they’ve done with Ciara right now. I don’t share the concern about actors leaving. They do that all the time, especially the young ones who want to try to shoot for more. Days is like a merry-go-round. People come and go all the time. She may be back. In the meantime I’m SO okay with a break from her. She and Ben are on way too much for my taste.

I've always assumed it's budget issues. The show was pretty straight forward that after the time jump, actors' contracts would be terminated and only some actors would be asked to re-sign. I'm sure the new contracts are for less money which inevitably weeds out some of the cast.
As for Ciara, after watching the newest promo, I'm wondering if the character will be injured and then recast. It feels like they've put far too much into building up Ben and Ciara as the newest super couple to just drop them.

I wonder how she will exit and what it means for Ben. Personally, I'll be fine with the show establishing Clyde and Ben as the new bad family. The show focused on Stefano as the bad guy way too much. His offspring are too wishy-washy. Clyde Weston, from day one, has been the perfect replacement.

To me Clyde was just some greasy drug dealer / child molester with a bunch of low lives as friends
I never saw him as the diabolical mastermind as stefano despite the writers trying to insist on it
Stefano has money, power and is basically mafia
Kiriakis family is sort of the same well at one time Victor was
Deimos could have been a good person to bring in but they wrote him so awful they flopped it
I could personally benefit from never seeing Clyde or hearing a reference from him again
The whole story about how he used to rape Jordan as a young girl made me sick
I prefer smut personally on a day time drama
