What are the dropped plotlines and scenes that you remember?

This idea came to me thanks to mikey mentioning the long ago random Nicole and Roman hook up.

How about Rafe and Carrie? I always thought they made an interesting couple but what was the point of bringing her back, having her hook up with Rafe, and then sending her off again?

I agree about Rafe and Carrie. There was absolutely no point in having her come back to Salem for last year's Fourth of July episode when she was gone again within a week. The writers also created this whole story about how she and Austin were broken up again, which is a major life change, and then just left it at that. If you're going to write something like that, then the viewers deserve to see it play out on screen.

I also would have liked to see Melinda and Hailey work through the fallout of Hailey finding out that Melinda was actually her mother and not her sister. The writers seriously dropped the ball on that one. They had all of this lead up to it, and then it just fizzled out. Melinda disappeared, and Hailey only mentioned once that they were working things out. I know Hailey wasn't a favorite character of a lot of viewers, but I feel like the writers could have done a lot with her if they had just chosen one storyline and stuck to it. Instead, she kept winding up with all of these different directions that got messy and that never really went anywhere. Case in point-her bad dreams and hallucinations about Claire. Then they killed her off after only a little more than a year on the show. And her death happened in a flashback! Not even within the real timeline of the show.

What happened to the Inn/boarding house place that Julie bought and gave to Eli? All of the younger set was living there for awhile.
