Outlets are reporting that Shawn Christian (Daniel Jonas) is returning. It doesn't say if he's returning alive or as a vision. We shall see. Daytime ConfidentialShawn Christian is making his way back to Salem. Christian will reprise his role of Daniel Jonas on Days of Our Lives. Soaps.com is reporting Christian, who played the role from 2008-2016, will appear on the show's April 1 episode. Viewers may recall that, on Jan 6, 2016, Daniel was taken off life support after he was involved in a car accident. Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was driving drunk and hit the car Daniel and Eric's stepbrother Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) were driving in. Daniel's heart was given to Brady. In 2017, Daniel returned as a vision for both Eric and Nicole (Arianne Zucker). |

Well - it's occurring on April Fool's day, so I highly doubt that it will be alive.
I figure he will show up as a vision to Maggie. If they do attempt to bring him back, then they've got some explaining to do on where Brady's heart came from.
The only other possible explanation for Shaun being back more long term would be Daniel's doppleganger

I'm hoping it's April Fools too, or maybe one of those special episodes like they've done in the past. I'm not a big Daniel fan either.
