Soap Opera DigestBILLY FLYNN AND KATE MANSI BACK TO DAYS! Billy Flynn (Chad) and Kate Mansi (Abigail) will be returning to Salem this fall. The news was announced on the DOOL App. Soap Opera Digest spoke with Flynn about his return in the issue on sale this coming Friday! Soaps She KnowsBilly Flynn confirmed to Soaps.com reporter Kristyn Burtt on the Daytime Emmy red carpet that he will be returning to Days of our Lives as Chad DiMera. In fact, he’s already back taping. The show revealed his return in a tweet, as well as Kate Mansi’s as Abigail DiMera. We previously reported, Flynn and Mansi’s last air date was February 21. Stay tuned for their first return date and note that the return will be a short one.

Thanks for this info sportsgirl. I have enjoyed the Chad/Abby break. They monopolized way too much of the show. I prefer more of an ensemble, which is how it's been since they departed. |

It sounds like Abby, not sure about Chad, will be returning for Caroline's memorial. This appears to be an additional return.

I really hope it is really short as I can't stand Billy's acting. The stuttering and monotone drove me nuts!

I think this return is for Christmas to wrap up the jack get his memory back story
That will be a lot of fast forwarding if they are waiting this long to give him his memory back.
Him and eve make me sick
I also read it’s to pay tribute to Caroline which is really sad that they haven’t done yet

I actually like Billy but I understand why some don't. I know he wasn't always on top of his game acting-wise but I think he has had some good moments. I am lukewarm about Kate but like her better than I thought I would. I guess I am ready for a Chad-Abby return as they have been off the show for awhile.

I have enjoyed both Kate and Billy so I'm glad they'll be back. For me it depends on the writing. I like their chemistry and if they're given a good story then this could be fun. But like others have said, I hope they don't monopolize the show as they've done in the past because that just doesn't work.

ProudTVJunkie that my issue with the pairing it not how the actors play them it the writing for then and the overly large amount of screen time the tend to get. I've the same issue with Nicole's character as with Chad and Abigail, to much screen time for the size of cast. We already have characters like Ben and Ciara that don't get enough screen time. Even JJ, or Kayla don't get enough screen time and now three of the biggest character who get to much are all back by fall. If there going to do that they better have found balance in the storyline's they tell.
