This story was written as the second part of a 3-part story. It began with "Dinner with the Family". This story (Part 2) picks up right where Part 1 left off. But, first, a brief recap:

So Far...

Brady and Melanie attempt to cook dinner for each other at the Kiriakis Mansion while Victor and Philip are away on business. However, after Melanie burns the lasagna and Victor and Philip's plane is cancelled, the two are forced to make a hasty retreat. They settle on dinner at Chez Rouge, deciding to wait until another time to cook for one another.

Will and Mia's dinner with Lucas and Kate is interrupted when Chad, Mia's ex-boyfriend and the father of Sydney, arrives demanding to know where the baby is. When Mia explains that she put the baby up for adoption, Chad gets angry and tries to threaten Mia. However, Mia isn't having any of it and firmly tells Chad to stay away from her. Afterwards, Will and Mia go for a walk and Mia tells Will the full story of her relationship with Chad and how evil he is. Will comforts Mia and tells her that Chad will never get the chance to hurt her ever again. Later, the two return to Lucas' apartment to find that Will's father and mother plan to get back together again.

Tony and Anna have dinner with E.J. and Nicole, however Tony is suspicious as to why E.J. is being so nice. And he is right to do so, as Stefano has once again risen from the dead. All is not as it seems, however. Tony is revealed to be his look-alike cousin, André. Together, André, E.J., and Stefano plot the next step of their master plan. Once back home with Anna, André slips up and momentarily reveals himself. It turns out that Anna has known all along that André wasn't Tony. André plans to shoot and kill and Anna, but it appears that somebody has already done that for him.

TONY & ANNA'S HOUSE
ANDRE: What are you doing here?!
The shooter is revealed to be Lawrence Alamain.
LAWRENCE: Hello, André. Ivan did call you to warn you of my arrival,did he not?
ANDRE: Well, of course he did, but I didn't expect to see you here the moment I got home...or that you would kill my wife, for that matter.
LAWRENCE: Well, it looked like you were about to kill her yourself, so I thought I would save you the trouble. Besides, I don't want any witnesses.
ANDRE: You don't want any witnesses for what? What is it that you plan to do?
LAWRENCE: I'm here to give you an offer. One that I believe you will be unable to refuse.
NARRATOR: And so it came to pass, on the final day of 2009, that Salem as we know it did cease to exist. But even then, André had no concept of his greater role in things. Something big was coming to Salem. It is returning through the dark. It is returning, and they are returning and he...he is returning...

So it's Lawrence! Intrigue and mystery await... I can't wait... but I'm still sad about Anna

Oh my gosh.. this sounds so bleak for Salem and I also was hoping that Anna wasn't really dead.. So sad!

Looks like so much evil is now in Salem.. all that is missing is Ernesto Toscano.

Chapter 1

NARRATOR: It is said that in the final days of Salem, everyone had bad dreams...

OUTSIDE OF AN OLD SHACK
A hooded figure is standing in front of it.
NARRATOR: To the west of that town, there stood a lonely old cottage. An abandoned chack. The Salemites had passed it many a time. But they forgot, because they must. They forgot their dreams of fire, insanity, and the shack. They forgot. All except this woman...
The figure lowers her hood to reveal that she is Marlena Evans-Black. She opens the door of the shack, walks in, and begins speaking to a person who is off-screen.
MARLENA: I'm here to check up on you. I promise, I'll let you out as soon as I get the key. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get the key until André is out of the Mansion, and it doesn't look like he'll be leaving anytime soon...

POLICE STATION
Commander Roman Brady was busily sorting through the massive amounts of paperwork on his desk. A knock came on the door of his office.
ROMAN: Come in.
The door opened, and John Black stepped in.
JOHN: Didja miss me?
Roman looked up, saw John, and stood up.
ROMAN: John?
The two men laughed and shook hands.
ROMAN: You look good, partner. Up and walking again, I see.
JOHN: All thanks to this miracle therapist that Doc hired. I've never felt better in all my life, and that's a fact.
ROMAN: Good, good. So, speaking of which, where is Doc?
JOHN: Well, Roman, that's why I came to see you. I don't know where Marlena is...

DiMERA MANSION
ANDRE: A deal? And just what kind of deal did you have in mind?
LAWRENCE: I want you to hand me over the reigns to DiMera Enterprises.
ANDRE: You can't be serious.
LAWRENCE: I'm dead serious.
ANDRE: And just what would I get in return for handing over DiMera Enterprises?
LAWRENCE: I've been doing research on you, André. I know that you have a history of being a psychotic, compulsive, rutheless, psychopathic murderer. I know things about you that I'm sure the Salem PD would love to find out. In exchange for DiMera Enterprises, I shall keep quiet about all your crimes.
ANDRE: Thanks, but no thanks. I can cover my own rear quite nicely, thank you.
LAWRENCE: Very well, then. I suppose I'll just have to tip off the Salem PD about who really killed Benjy. About who really commited the Salem Stalker and Salem Slasher crimes. I'm sure that they'd be very interested to know about all that, and all of the other dirt that I have on you.
ANDRE: You're bluffing.
LAWRENCE: Can you be sure?
ANDRE: I...
LAWRENCE: Can you really be sure that I'm bluffing, André?
ANDRE: What does it matter to you, anyway? You've already got Alamain Industries and JenCon Oil, after all. Why do you need DiMera Enterprises, as well?
LAWRENCE: Because you and Stefano run the only business in this town that has licked me. Aside from Titan, and that's only because Aunt Vivian has a soft spot for old man Kiriakis.
ANDRE: Yes, well, the answer is still no, Alamain. Good day to you.
André turned to leave.
LAWRENCE: Wait.
André turned back.
LAWRENCE: My final offer...
ANDRE: No means no.
LAWRENCE: Just hear me out. My final offer, in addition to keep quiet about your crimes, once I am in control of DiMera Enterprises I shall merge our two companies together and split the profits 50/50.
ANDRE: No.
LAWRENCE: Did I mention you can use Ivan as your personal slave?
ANDRE: All right, you've got a deal.
LAWRENCE: Good man.
The two shook hands.
ANDRE: But, you must keep this under your hat. Nobody must know about this agreement, do you understand? Nobody. Especially not Stefano. It would just break his heart if he found out that his most loyal servant was betraying him like this.
LAWRENCE: Trust me, André, I will keep quiet. Aunt Vivian would have me killed if she found out I was making a deal with a DiMera. My lips are sealed.
The two shook hands again.

Chapter 2

POLICE STATION
JOHN: I don't know where Marlena is. Or at least, not the real Marlena.
ROMAN: What do you mean the real Marlena?
JOHN: Well, a few weeks after I got better, Marlena disappeared. I woke up one morning, and she wasn't there. No note, nothing.
ROMAN: Well, that doesn't sound like her.
JOHN: That's what I was thinking. But then, a week later, she came back. But she was different this time. She wasn't the Marlena I know and love. When I asked her where she had been, she said she was in Colorado visiting Eric. But I still didn't believe her. She was completely different than she had been when she left. When she looked at me, it was like she barely even knew me. So, I decided to call up Eric and see if she actually had been in Colorado. Turns out that she hadn't been. Eric hasn't seen or heard from her anytime lately.
ROMAN: So, what exactly are you trying to say here, John? Do you think that the woman who claims to be Marlena is an imposter?
JOHN: That's a fact.
ROMAN: It's also a very serious accusation. I hope you have the evidence to back it up.
JOHN: I've given you all the evidence. Except for this.
John takes a plastic bag out of his pocket. Inside the bag is a lock of hair.
JOHN: I took this off of her brush one morning recently. This could be evidence that either the woman who claims to be Marlena really is Marlena, and something happened to her. Or, it could be evidence that we have an imposter in our midst.
ROMAN: Well, I'll have the lab boys run a D.N.A. test on it, soon as possible.
JOHN: Sounds good. I just hope that, wherever the real Marlena is, that she's all right.

DiMERA MANSION
Andre walked into the living room. Stefano was there, reading the morning paper.
ANDRE: Stefano!
STEFANO: Yes? What is it, Andre?
ANDRE: When do I get control over DiMera Enterprises?
STEFANO: Over my dead body! You don't get control over DiMera Enterprises!
ANDRE: And why-ever not?
STEFANO: Because, DiMera Enterprises is a family business.
ANDRE: Stefano, I am family!
STEFANO: Yes, but not direct family. You are not my direct decendant.
ANDRE: Well, then who does get control of DiMera Enterprises? Renee, Megan, and Benjy are all dead. Tony is...indisposed. So, who exactly does that leave?
STEFANO: It leaves Elvis, Alexandra, Peter, and Kristen.
ANDRE: Oh, Peter and Kristen have already been taken care of. Besides, they're not even your real children.
STEFANO: None the less, you shall never have control over the DiMera Empire.
ANDRE: We'll see about that.
Andre left. Stefano got up and walked out of the room. The lights turned off. Marlena walked into the house. She saw a key sitting on a hanger, she went over and picked it up.
MARLENA: At last. Now I can get him out of there...before it's too late...

OUTSIDE THE DiMERA MANSION
Andre walked out of the Mansion and immediately began talking on his cell phone.
ANDRE: It seems our plans might not go as well as we first hoped.
LAWRENCE (Over phone): What do you mean?
ANDRE: Stefano is refusing to give me DiMera Enterprises. And if I don't have it, then I can't give it to you. Still, that's nothing to worry about. Stefano said I would only get control of DiMera Enterprises over his dead body, and that can be very easily arranged...

I do enjoy the way Andre thinks .... well not usually ... what I mean is I enjoyed his last line to Lawrence.

I wonder who Marlena is trying to free - I hope it's Tony.
