They keep saying their relationship didn't end well all those years ago. I don't remember this at all. Do you? What happened?

I was only watching on and off then but I liked Roman and Diana. All I remember now is they were on and off a lot. They broke up when Roman started believing that Marlena was alive.

I vaguely remember that Diana was a good person, not this person we are seeing at all.

I remember I liked Diana. She's was nice, fun, and adventurous. I'd never watched Genie Francis on General Hospital but I loved her in this role. Diana and Roman(John) shared a LOT of love scenes together. They had great chemistry. I remember something about her having appendicitis in a lighthouse?!? I also remember them planning to get married and Sami and Eric being kids at the time. Diana was also good friends with Jack. I know I was disappointed with how they wrote her out.

I remember her being really sweet also. I don't remember their relationship ending badly which they keep harping on nowadays.

I don't think it ended badly in the sense that they hated one another. There was some incident where Diana accidentally shot John (I don't remember the details). I don't believe he blamed her for it but she felt very guilty. Then she disappeared just as they were about to get married and I remember something about her really being a spy and not a journalist, but it was all so convoluted at the end that I don't recall many of the details.

I barely recall Diana's relationship with John. I don't think she was anything like this current version.

She wasn't.
I liked them for what they were but they weren't as deep as John/Isabella were.
