Do you think there's a shortage of "good" guys(and women) on Days lately? Don't get me wrong, I like grey characters but I also think that in general I want most characters on the show to be good with a few villains thrown in to create drama. I feel like the balance is off.
I'm not sure when this started, maybe when Hope shot Stefano, but I just feel like there are hardly any characters that I can say are truly good and rootable anymore.
Hope, Rafe, Abby, Eric, Brady, Will, are all supposed to be good guys (I think) but they've been doing some really bad things, and not just once, repeatedly. It seems like some of these characters do bad things that are supposed to be overlooked just because of their last name.
Is it just me? What do you think?

This has been the case since the mid 90s the bad guys got more of the focus etc than the good guys.

I agree wendylou. We need a mix of good, bad and grey characters. Right now Jennifer, Doug, and Maggie are the only ones who come to mind as good.

It's not just you wendylou. Characters are less rootable. Couples too.

I think the problem is that the line between good and evil has been blurred now. "Good" characters never used to blackmail, kidnap, murder, etc. Now the only difference between most of the good characters and the bad ones is that the good ones have reasons to do bad things that might make them sympathetic.

I agree wendylou . We need a mix of good, bad and grey characters. Right now Jennifer, Doug, and Maggie are the only ones who come to mind as good. Maggie and Doug I agree with. Jennifer is just horrid. A one hitch whiney oh woe is me character. When most of the time she stirs up trouble and brings the fallout on herself only to once again whine about it. Just think Eric. Brady and JJ both have the potential to be in the category but it seems the writers keep sending them on the same road. Brady is a screw up and JJ is always and forever trying to be hero.
