from daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8604133/1/SOW: John Pleads Guilty!; 11/22 Issue SOW: John Pleads Guilty! In the aftermath of the shooting at the Brady Pub, John resolves to protect his family by pleading guilty. “John feels responsible for everything that is happening,” explains Drake Hogestyn. “The bottom line is that if he didn’t come back to Salem, none of this would have been visited upon the people that he loves. If he had stayed in Switzerland, there wouldn’t have been a shooting and Johnny wouldn’t have vanished.” Co-Head Writer Darrell Ray Thomas, Jr. notes, “Think about the guilt that John is feeling. Everyone was at the Brady Pub to see him. This happened on his watch. We all know how John feels about his family. This is what he has been afraid of, putting his family in harm’s way.” Complicating matters is the fact that John isn’t entirely sure of his innocence regarding the embezzlement charges. “John still has questions himself,” Hogestyn points out. “He isn’t sure of what he really remembers and what he doesn’t.” John informs Marlena of his decision, which she protests. “Marlena has always had more faith in John than he has in himself,” smiles Hogestyn. “She has always believed that there is an innate goodness inside of him, no matter what, even if he has done some pretty heinous things. She always rationalizes that he was not in control at that time.” Despite Marlena’s resistance, John instructs Carrie to seek a plea deal on his behalf. “John’s family is a fair target now,” says Hogestyn. “He feels that if people can’t get to him, they’re going to get to his family. So the way to protect his family is to put him in a place where he will be out of sight and hopefully out of mind." Later, Carrie reveals that the prosecution is not willing to negotiate a plea bargain. Hogestyn previews, “In order to avoid a long, drawn out trial, and to save everyone that he cares about from being hurt, John says that he’ll plead guilty.” At John’s urging, Carrie arranges for him to meet with the Judge that night. She and Marlena accompany John to the courthouse. “John pleads guilty to all charges and then he’s led away in handcuffs.” Courtesy of Rogue Ejami.

If he's guilty, can we please send him to prison and be done with him and Marlena all together?

Absolutely agree. They shouldn't have been brought back anyway.More Hortons would have packed more of a punch for the Horton town square unveiling.
