I found an old clip of Jay on the Young & the Restless on youtube that aired before Jay took over the role of Philip on Days. Jay looks so very young in this clip. It is a very short scene and it begins at the 1:30 mark. His character's name was Brendan which is kind of weird since he took over the role of Philip from an actor named Brendan on Days.

I believe he was only on Y & R for 1 or 2 episodes before he took over the role of Philip on Days. I also saw somewhere that Jay read for the part of Lucky Spencer on General Hospital and he turned down that role so that he could play Philip on Days. As much as I loved watching Jay play Philip on Days the role of Lucky on GH would have been a great role for him also. He probably would have won a daytime emmy if he played the part of Lucky since GH has always made a point of giving Lucky some really great storylines that allowed Jonathon Jackson the chance to win a few daytime emmys.

Wow I never knew that I wonder what it was that made him want to play Philip over Lucky. I had read that he originally auditioned for the role of Brady.
