Now that the summer is coming to a close, I am able to introduce the project that has consumed most of my time throughout the season. Say hello to An Irish Tale, a story that is very loosely based on the historical religious conflict between the Protestants and Catholics of Ireland. In this fictional world, the northern half of the country is being ruled by a Protestant family called the McAllisters while the southern half is being ruled by a Catholic family known as the Aberdeens. As King Lorcan McAllister and King Eugene Aberdeen clash in battle once again, Eugene is fatally wounded, leaving his sixteen-year-old daughter, Colleen, an orphan who now must take his place. But what kind of a queen will Colleen make when her father has never allowed her to know the world outside the castle walls let alone taught her how to rule their country? Meanwhile, Lorcan's heart problems eventually lead to his own demise, leaving his son, nineteen-year-old Aaron, to take his place and finish the war for control of Ireland. But when Aaron plunges back into battle, he soon finds himself badly wounded and abandoned by his army. After stumbling around in search of help, he eventually comes upon a farm....a farm where Colleen is now working in disguise as a commoner. Now that these two heirs to the throne have finally met, will they learn to work past the prejudices that have been ingrained in them? Or will one eventually triumph over the other? Find out by purchasing your copy of An Irish Tale at amazon.com today! Here are the links to the book and a youtube trailer that I created to advertise it: www.amazon.com/dp/1725154951/ref=rdr_ext_sb_ti_hist_2

I like the premise! And I love the music on your trailer.
Did you do the drawings yourself? I like the illustrations.

I like the premise! And I love the music on your trailer. Did you do the drawings yourself? I like the illustrations. Thanks, heroicmuse! Yes, the drawings are my own. I actually wrote the story many many years ago but didn't have time to complete the artwork for it. This summer, I finally buckled down and did it. It took about two months to complete it all, but it was worth the effort because I'm satisfied with most of the pictures that are included in the book itself. I'm also very happy with the way they printed. The music is just free downloadable music from youtube. I wanted something dramatic that kind of sounded like olden-times war if you know what I mean. This was the closest I found to what I had in mind. My mind actually kept playing the tune of the Rizzoli and Isles TV series intro, but I probably wouldn't be able to get away with using that!

Awesome booksoapwriter81! Your book sounds so creative, I love the medieval setting. Thanks, soaps4ever! The book is available on amazon.com for thirteen dollars if you're looking to get a copy. I also have another similar book that I put out last year. It takes place in Victorian times and is built around the moral of being true to yourself no matter how much the world doesn't approve of you. I don't have a video for that one yet since I just started learning how to make videos this past summer, but the summary of the book is in this section of the site under the thread entitled "My First Children's Book". The book itself is called Charisma.
