Chapter 7f
When they got back to the house and put their groceries and purchases away, Philip gave Chloe the phone. “We’re going to have to ditch it pretty much every time you use it.”
Taking the phone from him, she said, “I understand.” She looked at Holly in the carrier on the floor. “I should take her upstairs and put her down for a nap. Then I’ll make us some lunch.”
“Let me put her down,” Philip said quickly.
Chloe’s brow knit. “Why?”
“To give you a little break. Tell you what.” He glanced toward the kitchen. “You make lunch. I’ll put Holly down for a nap. Then afterwards, we’ll have that long overdue talk. … Parker, buddy, why don’t you come upstairs with me?”
“But Mommy’s making lunch,” he whined.
“We’ll save you some,” he promised. “You could use a nap too.”
*
When Philip came back downstairs, Chloe was on the phone. “We’re fine Mom. I promise. You know I can’t tell you that, but please don’t worry. Just know that we’re safe. How about you? Are you guys okay? … I’m so sorry about what happened to your condo. Yes, I promise I’ll stay in touch. … Philip? Um. I think I shouldn’t say. … No, you can’t call me. I’m talking on a disposable phone. … Ya, I know. Spy stuff. … I’ll call you when I can. Okay, love you both. Bye now.” She ended the call.
“Did I hear my name?”
“She asked if we were with you, but I thought it was safer not to say.”
“Good thinking.”
“So.” She pointed to the kitchen counter where there was a spread of sandwiches. “I made avocado, havarti, and tomato sandwiches on the artisan bread you bought at the market. I tasted the cheese. It’s delicious.”
“Sounds good. No mayo on mine.”
With her hand on her hip, she quipped, “Really, Philip? We’ve known each other how long? I think I know better than to put mayonnaise on your sandwich.”

Now that the sandwiches are out of the way and the kids are upstairs, how about that conversation, Chloe?

Hopefully, Chloe will stop stalling and tell Philip what the story is on why she’s basically in hiding.

Chloe's response was a dead give away that she was with Philip.
I sure hope that Philip doesn't fall for any of her stall tactics and this conversation actually happens.

It's good that Chloe was able to let Nancy and Craig know she and the kids are okay.
I think Chloe may feel better after she opens up to Philip.

Chapter 7g
Philip watched from the living room as Chloe put a sandwich in the refrigerator for Parker to eat later. “Chloe,” he said quietly. She didn’t seem to hear him, so he spoke louder. “It’s time, Chloe. Time to start talking. Holly is napping and Parker’s watching a video on my tablet.” He cocked his head, indicated the sofa. He patted the space next to him. “Come sit.”
She nodded and took a seat next to him on the sofa. Looking down at her hands in her lap, she said, “This is hard.”
He touched her chin. “This is me.” He stared into her eyes, hoping to ease her fears. As he held her gaze, his hand came to rest on top of her hand and he squeezed it.
She took a deep breath as she looked at him. “You’re right. Okay, truth time. Here goes. ... I’m not keeping Holly from Nicole by choice. I was blackmailed into—”
Philip’s phone buzzed at that moment. He went to the kitchen counter. “Sorry. If there are people out there looking for you, I need to answer the phone to see if it’s someone warning us.” He picked it up and his brow knit. “It’s Brady.”
“Brady can wait,” she said. Now that she started her story, she was eager to put it all out there.
“He’ll get suspicious if I don’t answer.” He held the phone to his ear. “What’s up? … No, I didn’t see her. … Okay, yes, I went to New York, but she wasn’t there when I got there. … I don’t know where she is." There was irritation in his voice. "No, I’m not overly worried. She clearly doesn’t want to be found. … Yes, I will. … I said I will! … Yeah, you too.” He clicked the off key and returned to Chloe on the sofa.
“I see you and Brady have as warm and caring a relationship as ever,” she noted sarcastically. “But I have to say, you were pretty convincing. Why is Brady so involved anyway?”
“He’s being Nicole’s knight.”
“Sheesh." She rolled her eyes. "Don’t tell me Brady has fallen for Nicole again. It’s ridiculous how every time he gets in her orbit, he falls in love with her.”
Philip glanced in her direction. “There are women who just have that affect on some men.”
Chloe reached for his hand, a little surprised by his frankness. “Sorry.”
With a shrug, he said, “It is what it is.”
This probably wasn’t the time, but there might never be a good time to talk. “Philip? I have a confession to make. Remember when you told me you were in love with me?”
“Which time?” Philip's question was a little too frank for her comfort. She cocked her head and gave him a look, but before she could say anything else, he said, “Let’s get back to business. You started to tell me you were blackmailed. By who?”

I'm so glad that Philip was blunt with her and sidestepped her question. Time for him to know the truth and what he's gotten himself into.

I'm glad that Chloe admitted she is being blackmailed. I'm curious what she was going to say to Philip if he answered her question.

Well. Chloe at least is starting to share the story, and it sounds legit. But talk about an awkward conversation....

Chapter 7h
Brady stared at his phone screen.
“Well?” Nicole folded her arms. “What did he say,” she demanded.
“He said he didn’t see her and he doesn’t know where she is and he was testy as hell.”
“Oh my god Brady. That’s bull!”
“I know.”
“Your private detective spotted him in New York and, within a day, he was gone and so was Chloe. He’s hiding her,” Nicole reasoned. Holding her head in disbelief, she began to rant. “I can’t believe this. You specifically asked for his help bringing Chloe to her senses, and instead he’s helping her when he was supposed to be helping you … helping us get Holly back!”
“Tell me about it,” Brady mumbled, as he began to pace in front of the Kiriakis living room sofa where Nicole was seated. “I can’t believe he’s being disloyal to his family and choosing Chloe over one of his own.”
“Oh please. Are you kidding me Brady? He’d always choose Chloe over family. He always has,” she conjectured. “I’m not a bit surprised he’s being her knight in shining armor. What do you wanna bet he’s fallen for her. Again.”
“Grandfather hates disloyalty like poison and so do I.”
“Well, if it’s disloyalty you’re talking about, I happen to know for a fact that he thinks you were disloyal to him,” Nicole stated.
“When was I ever disloyal?”
“When you stole Chloe from him.”
