I think the trouble he is referring to is Chloe.....in more ways than one.
And just to say, when I mentioned stalling - I wasn't meaning they should have the conversation in front of Parker. I meant that she's asking all of these questions to lure him into a sense of comfortableness so that he will hopefully forget the bigger elephant in the room and maybe be focused more on other things.

Love the bo mention I agree with mae00 I think he was referring to Chloe as the trouble That’s what I took from that anyways Chloe is being manipulative just to avoid telling him the truth I hope he puts his foot down or sends her hone She’s ridiculous

I am a little surprised that he is being so open with Chloe about his own life unless he’s trying to establish the easier rapport they used to have to get her ready to spill what’s been going on with her.
Will there be previews, boss?

Chapter 7d
After breakfast, Philip drove the foursome in his golf cart to the shopping center in town. “I don’t think I’ve ever ridden in a golf cart before,” Chloe said, holding Holly in her arms on the seat next to Philip. She looked behind her at Parker, who was in the backseat wearing a seatbelt, but struggling to turn around so he could look at the view out back. “Keep your seatbelt on, angel,” she told him. Then to Philip, she added, “It’s kind of fun and quirky, riding in the golf cart.”
“It’s a way of life around here,” he explained. “A lot easier to get around the docks in a golf cart than in a full size car. Besides, it’s way more ecological, don’t you think?”
“Sure, but aren’t there times when you need an actual car?”
“You mean like when it’s cold or snowy?” he joked. “You’re right, of course. You can’t take a golf cart on the highway. There’s a parking garage in town near the marina where you can leave your regular vehicle. And there’s always rentals and Uber.”
When they got into town, Philip pulled the cart into a diagonal parking spot amid dozens of other golf carts. He took Parker grocery shopping with him, so Chloe could get some clothing for herself and the kids as well as supplies for Holly.
While he was in the grocery store and walking along the strip, at least a dozen people stopped him to ask “Who’s the little boy?” “Is he yours?” “What about the girl?” “She’s lovely.” “Is she staying?” “Are you a couple?” It was worse than Julie and Maggie. Even though he hadn’t lived in the Keys very long, it was a small community and everyone knew everything. It made Philip second guess his decision to bring Chloe to his home. It was meant to be a hideaway to keep her safe. Hopefully none of these people had connections to anyone he or Chloe knew back home.

Hopefully they aren’t found out, I’m a little surprised that Parker isn’t Phillips in this story

Interesting that Philip is already second guessing bringing Chloe out to stay with him.

It would be odd if anyone knew Chloe from Salem, but in soapland anything can happen.

If he's been able to hide out this long without anyone knowing where he is, I would think he would be safe. However, the paternity case being plastered in the media means that people would recognize Chloe. It wouldn't matter where they went, someone would be able to identify her....unless they come up with other names for her and the kids to buy them a little more time.

Might have been safer to go someplace else, where people don’t know either of them...but oh well.

Chapter 7d
When he met up with Chloe a couple hours later, Philip was carrying Parker in his arms.
“Don’t tell me,” Chloe said. “Parker said he was too tired to walk and roped you into carrying him.”
“I don’t mind.”
She rubbed Parker’s back. “We talked about this, angel. You have two good legs and—” She gasped, remembering Philip lost a leg in combat. “I’m so sorry, Philip.”
“It’s not a big a deal. Besides, I kind of like carrying him around.” He looked at Parker. “Reminds me of when he was a baby.”
“But he’s not a baby now. He’s five years old, and I know it gets heavy to carry him. I don’t want him taking advantage of you any more than he already has.”
“Ah, let him.” He smiled briefly, then eyed her up and down. “So, judging from those shopping bags, it looks like you had success.”
“I did. I feel human again, knowing I have a change of clothes and some sleepwear.” She lifted the carrier Holly was in. “And this carrier does double duty as a sleeper for Holly. … I will pay you back, Philip.”
“I know you will. But for now, let’s not worry about it.” He adjusted Parker in his arms. “I have a surprise for you. It’s in my back pocket.”
Chloe glanced toward Philip’s derriere. “I’m intrigued.”
“It’s a disposable phone. I’ll give it to you when we get to the house. Ready to head back?”

Poor Philip. I feel so bad for him and Parker given everything they have been through and now they are getting attached to each other again. I can only imagine how hard it's going to be if/when Chloe decides to run again.
I'm really glad Philip didn't tell Chloe to go ahead and get the phone out of his back pocket.
I can't say anything about carrying a 5 year old. I carried both of my babies as long as I could, just savoring that time knowing that it could be the last.
