Billy Flynn leaving??Rumors have been circulating that when Kate Mansi leaves Days of Our Lives (DOOL) after her relatively short stint as Abby, that Chad will go with her and now that seems to be true. According to the site, Soap Opera News, Billy Flynn is indeed leaving DAYS and will tape his last scenes in October, in time to usher Chabby into a happy ending out of Salem. Of course, we also recently learned Flynn signed a new contract a few months back, but that could have been for a short-term deal, or DAYS let him go at the end of his 13-week cycle. Both of these scenarios are pure speculation. We had also heard rumors that Kate Mansi might extend her stay, but now that might also be up in the air if the soap just wants to send this couple off into the sunset together after they learn Abby’s latest child really is Chad’s. While there’s no confirmation from DAYS that Flynn is out, several sources seem to believe this is true.

I'd be okay with a break from Abby and Chad. If he's done filming in October then he'll be on screen until April.

I don’t have strong feelings about either of them but they are a big focus of the show right now and I wouldn’t mind a shift to some other characters. It seems weird to bring in a recast (even a returning actor) for such a short time. Maybe Marci had to leave before they could wrap things up the way they wanted??? |

I will not miss Chad. Neither his character, nor the actor, nor the coupling are that compelling. I never liked EJ, but I can recognize that Chad was not a strong replacement.
