I’m looking forward to more of these Hope-Aiden chats...

That was a beautiful video! I’m glad Aiden’s taking care of Hope.

I hope this is going in the direction it seems. So relieved that Hope doesn't want Rafe smothering her

I understand Hope not being ready to deal with Rafe.

Chapter 15a
When she woke up from her nap, she felt stronger, more like herself than she had for a long time. She took a deep breath and reached for the curtain behind her. It looked like a beautiful day.
“Good morning.” Aiden stood in the doorway holding a tray with a bowl and a glass of orange juice. “Feel like having some oatmeal?” He walked further into the room and set the tray on her lap. She looked down at her oatmeal for a long time. “It’s not poisoned, I swear,” he said.
“No, I know that.” She pushed her hair behind her ear. “I was just thinking how nice it would be to have solid food again.” She looked up at Aiden and quickly added, “Sorry, that sounded ungrateful. You’ve been waiting on me hand and foot for days. I’m beginning to feel a little like I’m taking advantage.”
“I don’t mind. And for the record, you’re not — taking advantage, that is.”
She stirred the oatmeal and lifted a spoonful to her mouth. After washing it down with a sip of juice, she asked, “So, have you really been hiding out here all this time?”
“For about a year. The Dimeras probably know where I am. They seem to know everything. But they haven’t bothered me here, at least not yet.”
“I don’t understand.”
“I was a pawn of both Stefano and Andre and call me a coward, but I don’t want to be a pawn again.”
“I don't believe that,” she blurted. “I mean the part about you being their pawn.”
“Why not? Everyone believed John when he said he was Stefano’s pawn,” Aiden reasoned, “and he didn't even look a thing like Roman when he showed up claiming to be him.”

That's a good point. I hated how on the show everyone who had been a victim of the Dimeras replacing them with a doppleganger were so quick to assume Aiden was lying about it happening to him.

I agree with heroicmuse, and with Aiden. It’s a little ridiculous that no one believed him when half of them have been replaced by clones themselves.

I'm curious what Hope will say about not believing Aiden was a pawn.

Chapter 15b
“Everyone believed John when he said he was Stefano’s pawn,” Aiden reasoned, “and he didn't even look a thing like Roman when he showed up claiming to be him.”
“You know your Salem history.” She set her spoon down and thought for a moment. “But you’re right. Stefano always had a thing for Marlena and he got a perverse joy out of knowing he was manipulating her, and John was the instrument he used to do it.”
“The Dimeras hate all the Bradys and everyone associated with them, and when your name rose the top of their list, they wanted you to be miserable and they used me to try and control you.” He grew irritated and it showed. “They're crazy, Hope. I know that’s not a news flash, so I would think you'd be the last person I'd need to convince of that fact.”
“Okay okay, you’re right. I’m sorry for being skeptical.” With a sigh, she added, “Blame it on the cop side of me. It’s true though. Almost everyone I know has been kidnapped and/or replaced in some way, shape, or form by the Dimeras — Roman, Rafe, Bo, Marlena, you, me. Did I ever tell you about Princess Gina?”
“No, who’s she?”
“Stefano switched me with Princess Gina, around hmmm … it was around the year 2000. She was living with my husband and son while Stefano kept me prisoner in a turret in Austria.” She closed her eyes and shook her head back and forth as if she were trying to get rid of the horrible memory. She opened her eyes and said, “It’s a long story. Really long. Fast forward I’m here, Stefano’s in dead mode, and Gina’s back in Austria. I’ll tell you the War and Peace version some other time.”

Well, that’s a blast from the past. Nice reference to Princess Gina!

GOod use of history. I hope Hope and Aiden can bond over both having been tormented by the Dimeras.

I like the reminder of Princess Gina. Will there be previews Kpatch?

Even knowing a little about Salem, I think Aiden’s mind would boggle if he knew exactly how nuts the whole DiMera/Brady thing is!
Will we have preview, boss?

Chapter 16a
After Hope finished her breakfast, Aiden set the tray on the floor. “Feel up to a little exercise?”
“If you mean Dancing With the Stars or Sweatin’ With the Oldies, I think I’ll pass,” she quipped.
With a chuckle, he explained, “I had something a little tamer in mind — more along the lines of a stroll around the room. I think it’s time you got out of that bed. I don’t want you to stiffen up and the longer you’re bedridden—”
“When did you get your medical license, Dr. Jennings?” Hope asked with a smirk.
“It’s just common sense.”
“I agree with you. If you must know, I’m sick and tired of this bed.” She pushed her coverlet aside and dangled her legs over the side of the bed. She inched toward the edge of the bed and hesitated. “Um. I may need some help.”
“I’m right here.” He stood in front of her and held out his hands.
She hesitated before slipping her hands in his. He gripped her hands tightly as she pulled herself up. She wobbled a little and he quickly moved to her side and put his arm around her back to steady her. “You okay?”
“I think so.”
“Ready to rock and roll?”
“Oh, I’m rocky alright.” She winced. “Also creeky. But it’s now or never. Let’s boogie.”
They slowly traversed the room, walking around the bed toward the closet and back. “Doing okay?” he asked.
“Ya. It feels weird,” she answered as she tucked a hair behind her ear, allowing him to support her. “I feel like a baby learning to walk for the first time.”
“If you think back to when you were a baby, you remember that you didn’t do it alone. If it’s any consolation, it gets easier.”
“Thanks for the reminder.”
“Tell me when you’ve had enough.”
Hope stopped walking. “I can’t believe I’m tired already. That might be all I can manage for today. Tomorrow, we can go for run,” she said. “Sorry, lame joke.”
As they reached the bed, he left her side and stood in front of her again to balance her. Her knees began to buckle and she reached for his shoulders. He grabbed her waist.
Looking into her eyes, he said, “You’re okay, Hope. I won’t let you fall.”
“Thank you,” she whispered, meeting his gaze.
