from daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8594458/1/SID: More DiMera Intrigue to Come!; November 7th Issue Rumors that James Scott would be leaving Days of Our Lives had fans aghast! But luckily, those reports were premature. He's the character you love to hate. But, though EJ is definitely one dastardly dude, his rapier wit, mega-watt smile and British accent also make him sexy as hell. So when talk that Scott had been unable to reach a deal on a new contract hit the internet, fans were buzzing about his (gulp) departure from the show. And sure, it helped when the actor released a statement indicating he hoped to stick around -- "It has always been my wish to continue working with DAYS, and in light of recent reassurances given, I am optimistic of my future here," he said -- but his devotees still couldn't help worrying. But fear not: We hear that Scott did indeed sign a one-year deal... meaning Mayor DiMera might just become a possibility! (Good luck Salem!) And while Sami and the rest of the Brady clan may not be so happy that the devious lawyer is staying in Salem, we know one person who's smiling: "He's a great actor, he's awesome at what he does, and I support the guy 1,000 percent," beams Arianne Zucker.

I don't think they should use words like "rapier" to describe anything about EJ if we're supposed to forget about his extremely dark past.
Thanks for posting, karebr13!

Ha Rocky! I didn't even read it that way, but you do have a point.
I wish this article had a spoiler or two about what IS going to happen though. At least a hint.

This to me is way too vague.

It seems more like a late official announcement about James's renewed contract.

That whole thing was a hoax IMO.

I don't know about hoax, but I'm sure it was just routine contract talks that someone thought would create buzz/drama and it got out somehow.

You could be right.I just don't know. It's a ploy alot of actor's use at contract time, especially if it's not going in their favor.
