Hello, fellow writers and Days fans. I don't think any of you live in my area, but I just want to share the exciting news that I will be participating in a Local Authors Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania next weekend. It will give me a chance to sell some of my books and give a presentation about my writing. I am excited about it and am hoping that it will open some doors for me as far as getting my work out there more. If you're interested but live too far away to come check it out, my books are also available on both amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com in print and kindle format (amazon only for kindle).

Thanks for your support, everyone. It was different from what I expected but still worth the experience. I sold six books (five were bought by a friend of mine who came, but still. Sales were made). There were about 38 authors present at the event, and it sounded like most people only sold between maybe two and five books, so I didn't feel so bad about the low sales once I heard that. I also got a chance to inspire some people who are interested in writing but don't know how to get started. It felt good to help them and give them advice on what to do. Many of the writers left two or three hours before the event was supposed to end, but sticking around allowed me to make another sale and share my advice and experiences with two aspiring writers. I also was able to make a connection with a crime fiction writer who said she'd e-mail me with information about other author events that she's aware of so that I can start signing up for more. Overall, it was a worthwhile day that helped me learn a little bit more about the next steps to take in my writing journey.
