The Phoenix rises again on Days of Our Lives (DOOL), but this isn’t The Phoenix Jr, also known as Andre DiMera, this will be The Phoenix himself, Stefano DiMera.

Sadly, he will look and sound different due to the tragic death of the late, great Joseph Mascolo, but he will still be familiar as Thaao Penghlis is taking over the role, giving us the REAL reason the show killed Andre earlier this year.

That way we still get a taste of DiMeras without having to adjust to an actor who just wouldn’t understand the role at all. However, taste is the optimum word here because his latest brush with faked death has caused Stefano to turn over an entirely new leaf.

He wants to be sweet as can be and what better way to be sweet as can be but to open a candy shop right in the middle of Horton Square. Stefano will pay homage to the people who started it all, the two most upstanding citizens in Salem in his own quest to finally be upstanding.

The good son, Chad, will join him in this sweet new business, giving us the wonderful chemistry between Billy Flynn and Penghlis once again. The two will even put other talents to work, as DAYS turns into a musical several days a week and the owners and their customers will break out into foolish songs.

And you thought DAYS was foolish to kill off Andre. Not a chance because something so much better is in store. All this foolishness will start in April, so we hope you’re enjoying your APRIL FOOL’S day today.

Thank goodness this is an April Fool’s joke. I only skimmed it the first time I read it and I was like, “WTH??” Glad I came back to read it more closely.

I wasn't even thinking about it being April Fools Day. Whew. No one should play Stefano except Joseph Mascolo, and we do not need to resurrect him.
