This thread rocks!! Thanks everyone for all of the awesome clips and photos! Love the affair part 3 photos. Philip never looked at Melanie like that! great pics from the anatomy of love. It's Jay and Nadia showing how they film a love scene. Maybe someone can pull up the clip and add it to the thread.
I want to watch all the clips but since its 1:30am guess I should go to bed.

shi, I just watched the "I don't love you" clip. It was so sweet and charming. You do such a great job of chronicling Phloe's relationship, it's like watching it again for the first time, scene by scene. And Days did such a great job back then of developing a real relationship that stayed true to character. The angst made sense, one story flowed into another naturally, it was completely believable and sucked the viewer in big time.

I just knew you would like it . I would love to see a DOOL story written like this again even if it were with other characters. It was just such a great story. There was an actual build-up, angst that made sense as you put it, and character history played a big role in developing these characters and explaining their motivations. Days could definitely use some more of this. Fluffysmom, Thank you so much for subscribing! Jaysdelina, I'm glad you enjoyed the clip. If you don't mind me asking, what turned you off from phloe? I know phloe lost some fans during their FWB era. Was that the case for you? Chloe has been written so poorly this time around. Whenever I watch old clips of Chloe, I feel like I'm watching a completely different character. I can't think of any other character currently on the show whose been destroyed to the degree Chloe has been. Of course, I think Philip is written very differently too. I like that he's ruthless, but he had a bit of a soft side back then that I miss. He's a bit too serious now imo. |

shi22: I really didn't mind the friends with benefits era at all quite honestly.For me it just meant there was a possibility for Philip and Chloe to eventually admit to deeper feelings and get back together at the time.Unfortunately the writers didn't go in that direction,but I can't even regret that because I loved Philip and Melanie together.They had great chemistry right from the start IMO.What DID turn me off to Phloe is the writing for Chloe.When she first came to town years ago,she could have run circles around most in the intelligence department.She could have easily changed paternity tests herself.But since she came back in 07,they've written her as a brainless bimbo who can't seem to do a damn thing without a man by her side.That's not Chloe IMO.Nor was she EVER this distrustful of Philip.IMO they've ruined Phloe completely.Philip is still as soft as he was back then IMO,but you're right,there is an edge to him,and honestly I love that edge.

I agree with jaysdelina that TPTB have really damaged Chloe's character. I hope that Philip leaving and taking Parker will help the old Chloe to come back! I'm not sure if newer viewers would even root for Philip and Chloe to be together. Obviously we do because we have seen them from the beginning. The newer fans of the show probably just think of Chloe as a bimbo. You would never realize how smart and independent she was in the early years. That was part of what drew Philip to her. TPTB could have used flashbacks following the ONS and after Parker's paternity reveal. It would have been nice to show a little of their history.
It would be nice if TPTB could have some scenes where Chloe talks about her past. They could be with a therapist or Maggie. Maybe Chloe and Nicole could have a conversation about their troubled pasts. That would help the newer viewers to understand Chloe better. I will always be rooting for a PHLOE reunion but that may be more likely to happen offscreen.
